Travel memories 10 of 365
I lucked into a four-day weekend at the end of March, so after enduring a long, cold winter, I decided to make a quick trip to Guam, where I could warm my bones. Guam is only a three-hour flight from Tokyo, but I never had any desire to go -- figuring it would be overrun with Japanese tourists. But it turned out that aside from one small area, Guam is a lot closer to California than it is to Okinawa.
It was a great quick get-away. Not only warm climate, beautiful beaches and amazing snorkling, but also native culture, WWII ruins and cheap steaks.
BTW, this was my first digital holiday. I was shooting a Nikon E990 that Santa had brought me for Christmas 2000.

Just after sunrise, poolside at our hotel in Santorini. Just tried the auto stitch feature in PS with this shot, it works pretty well but I had to touch up a few spots here and there.
Matilda is not allowed in the ship's pools due to the likelihood of a diaper disaster, but she seems fine just spending time with Aunt Meegan instead. Especially when Meegan periodically spits mouthfuls of water on her.
