I stopped for this landscape at a turnout on the side of the road in Pomona, CA. It just looked like a natural black and white.

Plenty of rocks to sit on here, to take in the incredible beauty of the Shawnee National Forest on a fall evening close to dusk. There is a spiritual feeling here. It’s easy to sit and wonder, look around take in the beauty, observe the biodiversity of the flora. The green leaves, the freshly fallen leaves, and a few remnants of last years crop hugs the forest floor. We are witnessing three stages of leaf life. The rocks here were deposited in layers eons ago. We can see the their flat surface which provide interesting patterns, Inhale, exhale and observe. That’s all that’s required.

I meant to take pictures outside today, but our snowstorm turned pretty icy, so more shitty indoor shots it is.
The Harry Potter CMF Series 2 has some great minifigs, with some even better accessories. Professor Pomona Sprout is not one of those.
The figure itself is a nice update on the 2011 minifig, but the Screaming Mandrake she's holding, is not the one she is packaged with. (It's the one from the last series that came with Neville; Who's getting a catch-up lesson today, because Pomona is an awesome teacher like that)
Instead, the Pomona minifig includes a printed 1x1 round brick, two of the green plant stems, and whilst she has a wand, she doesn't have a handle for her cauldron.
As AFOLs, we've come to expect a lot from the CMF minifigures, so those little omissions count for a lot. It means this is one for completionists only.
Because for the Hogwarts fans,
with the ever expanding range of Hogwarts classrooms, it's only a matter of time till we get a Herbology Classroom, and an updated Professor Pomona, which means it might be worth holding on.

Vertumnus was a nature God who could assume any shape. Here He woos the nymph Pomona. He gained her presence in the guise of an old woman, but then removed his mask to reveal himself as a youthful god. The sculptor, Delvaux, was trained in the Netherlands, but worked in England from 1717 to 1728.
Westbound ZG4CI (Global 4, IL to City of Industry, CA) passes the station at Pomona. Amtrak stops here on the Sunset Limited, the final stop for westbound Sunsets before LA.
These searchlights located at MP 510.2, along with 2 other sets, were the only ones left still operating along the ex-SP Sunset Route in the LA basin. Unfortunately, they were removed about 4 years ago when UP and Cal Poly Pomona (adjacent to the right-of-way) reached an agreement to bypass two road crossings that caused significant delays to students. The plan called for the line to be rerouted through Cal Poly's agricultural studies fields and connect to the LA Sub (ex-LA&SL) which parallels the Alhambra Sub (Sunset Route) and rejoin the original alignment at Pomona Junction, about 3 miles away that in turn created an island of unnecessary trackage where these sentinels stood proudly for over 6 decades.
So on November 17, 2015, as I pointed my camera to photograph UP 8574 West, little did I realize that this would be the last train I'd ever photograph splitting the pair as it raced west toward LATC, but if it had to be my final shot, at least it was in gorgeous afternoon light!
