The pomegranate, botanical name Punica granatum, is a fruit-bearing deciduous shrub or small tree in the family Lythraceae that grows between 5 and 8 m (16 and 26 ft) tall.

In Greek culture, the pomegranate is a sign of luck, prosperity and fertility. It is also a sign of renewal and regeneration. Pomegranate trees were also mentioned in Homer's Odyssey and Hippocrates also refers to the fruit for its healing properties.
We have two pomegranate trees and only one produces fruits.
When we planted them 4 years ago, the location I chose was rather unfortunate, and the tree ( it looks more like a large bush) doesn't get enough sun. No sun means no fruits.
Anyone likes this fruit?
Pomegranate has anti-oxidant, anti-viral and anti-tumor properties and is said to be a good source of vitamins, especially vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin E, as well as folic acid. It contains two compounds – punicalagin and punicic acid which give it all the potent benefits.

My parents have some fruit trees in their cottage. This weekend I saw the pomegranate tree was blooming, and some of the blooms fell on the floor....they are quite curious and well....orange!

I have been looking at these two pomegranates for a few days now and I was thinking that because of their texture they would be a good model for photography. Thanks to this week's topic, my pomegranates was given the opportunity to be shown publicly.
