In the large-scale gouache and two elements reminiscent of shipping crates that comprise That and This, painting and sculpture are united; they are site-specific and simultaneously autonomous. The rectangular, panel-like planes merge together to form a precise geometric form, which in turn breaks down as a result of the polymorphic painterly surfaces. Blair creates a calculated tension between various forms of painting and media. The result is a complex play between levels of reality and interpretation, within which painting, sculpture, architecture and design question each other with regard to their respective aesthetic possibilities and genres mutually penetrate each other. Formal and thematic considerations are linked in order to question both our traditional concept of art and the institutional context of its presentation.

(B) Melanin (arrow) was noted near the border of incised lesion. (C) S-100 stain was positive and showed high sensitivity. (D) HMB45 stain was positive. The sensitivity seemed lower than S-100 stain.
