[Buildings Like Trees, Cities Like Forests]
@University of San Carlos - TC, Cebu City
Three of the most significant issues in the relationship between trees and buildings are structural, environmental and aesthetic ones; all concern both buildings and trees. The right relationships produce joy, the alternative can be painful.Trees are amongst the most permanent and significant features in our towns and countryside.
Trees in urban areas improve the environmental quality of the environment in a number of ways. Trees absorb noise and pollution, provide oxygen and moisture, provide privacy and can help stabilise land. It is important when trees or shrubs are planted that care is taken in the siting, selection and planting of trees and shrubs. A tree or hedge should not threaten any building or cause a nuisance that could result in the loss of the tree and damage to buildings or structures.
When the architect and theorist Le Corbusier imagined the future of cities from the vantage of the early 20th century, he foresaw a new industrial aesthetic that would free design from the constraints of the natural world. For Le Corbusier, the city was “a human operation directed against nature” and the house was “a machine for living in.” He imagined architecture worldwide shaped by a “mass production spirit.” The ideal: “One single building for all nations and climates.” Le Corbusier’s friends dismissed his futuristic ideas. “All this is for the year 2000,” they said.

This is just an 11 minute capture from my Living Room with an 80mm refractor. It's a rough capture but seeing an ancient cluster of 100,000 stars, 33,000 light years away fromthe heart of London light pollutution..I aint gonna complain! Seeing this globular through an eyepiece is actually more vivid than the more popular Hercules cluster M13 in London skies, probably because it is condensedly packed than the more disperse Hercules.

Stacked with DSS (Deep Sky Stacker). Manually adjusted RGB levels, luminosity and saturation to get as visually appealing image with colour stars before importing into imaging software.
Camera Raw: cropped, adjusted black, highlights, and whites. reduced noise.
Photoshop. Gradient tool to level out light pollution, gradually adjusted levels multiple times to eliminate light pollution, curves to bring out more detail.
