"It is at the edge of a petal that love waits."
- William Carlos Williams
I had the luck to find this strange beauty at the market months ago. I started collecting stapelias before because their interesting look... a kind of creepy lovecraftian look. Some people call it "Demogorgon flower" due to its resemblance to the monster from the Stranger Things TV show. These flowers have a soft rotten smell so it can attract flies for the pollination, you can only smell it when you're too close to the flower, so it's not a problem at all!
After I tore it when I was making a dry lift/ transparency I had the idea to make a emulsion lift with the part that stayed on top of the white stuff, so it ended up being an hybrid lift (wet emulsion/ dry lift).

“My body's been touched a thousand or more times but I am craving something so much deeper than that ~ I desire to be felt, right down to the core of my soul and the corners of my heart. That's what love is about isn't it ~ cracking yourself open to the possibility that it could change your life.”
― Nikki Rowe
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
― Anaïs Nin
For Day Three of RoidWeek 2023, I’m continuing my experiment using Reclaimed Blue 600 on the Polaroid SX-70 Sonar. Today’s first photo is a movie marquee in Westwood, New Jersey.

Roid Week 2012 Day 1 - 1
Happy Roid Week!
So here's the first one, a Figaro light. Similar to a shot I took a couple of years ago with my very first pack of PX100: www.flickr.com/photos/jakem/4481793229/
Looking forward to paddling in this year's pool!
It's been a wet spring in the South of France, and everything is very green. The meadow round my parents' house is flowering.
In Provençe at the very start of April, I timed it perfectly for the cherry blossom. My mother tells me that two days after I'd gone it had moved on, leaves coming through.

It's so rare to find polaroid film locally, most of the times I get them from Polaroid North America, Amazon or Ebay and I have to wait weeks or even a month or a bit more to have it in my hands. But the time I got a fresh pack of SX-70 film from local Facebook marketplace I wasn't surprised it was heat spoiled: the heat was so much that time and the seller said no when I asked him if it was preserved in the fridge, but at least he was honest and also showed me a photo he took with another pack he used, and it had a magenta interesting tone, so I had no problem to buy it.
The result was an awesome hot pink colour after I got the transparency on top of a pink tissue paper...so, no regrets!
