Stained Glass Dome - Polaroid 600 Express Camera, Polaroid 600 Color Film

Tower in Clouds - Polaroid 600 Express Camera, Polaroid 600 Color Film

The bridge was designed by William Etheridge and built in 1749. The timbers are arranged in a series of tangents that describe the arc of the bridge, with radial members to tie the tangents together and triangulate the structure, making it rigid and self-supporting. Taken with a 1975 Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera model 1 on Polaroid (TIP) B+W film

The twin keels keep her upright until she refloats on the high tide. At first glance this looks like a 'Colin Archer' clinker-built day boat; closer inspection reveals its a modern fibreglass construction but she's very pretty all the same! Taken with Polaroid SX-70 Alpha 1 on Polaroid (TIP) B&W film at Sunderland Point, River Lune, Lancashire.

this is me, at a loss of words, after learning that Polaroid was shutting its doors on the production of all instamatic film. following this picture i frantically order 12 packs of 600 film - leaving me broke but happy....

unlike many of my fellow polaroid patrons i am new to this photographic format. as a graphics design junky i had always worked with digital. shame on me!

it wasn't until a few months ago when raymond molinar, friend and Polaroid guru, first introduced me to the elegance and simplicity of this medium. immediatly i fell in love with Polaroid and knew i had to become a part of this artistic community.

i know this may make me sound like a bit of a freak, but all the same it rings true to me: at times looking through the view finder of my sx 70 seems more meaningful than looking thorugh my own eyes. there is something nostalgic and wistfully sentimental about the 3.5 x 4.2 framing of a Polaroid picture... and don't even get me started on the developing process. watching an image develop in the short span of 2 mins is like witnessing a miracle take place, a moment in life being reborn, a supernatural event unfolding before my eyes.

it deeply saddens me to think about the possibility of this art form one day dying out, and i must admit that there have been times when i was tempted to cut down on my polaroid usage in order to preserve my rapidly deminishing stash of 600 film. but being artistically conservative is basically the antithesis of the Polaroid manifesto!

Edwin Land provided the world with the truest form of photography, one that mirrors life itself: instant, tangible, and un-edited.

LONG LIVE POLAROID!

***** so glad it's been sudo saved :D *****

From what I can gather from other photos take around this time, I believe this film was one of the earlier PX600 black frame film that I had cut.

I dont normally do this, put two images together like this, but I like these two together. Fuji 100c, taken with a Colorpack camera.

Konik Polski ('Konik' - 'small horse' in Polish) an ancient semi-feral breed originally from the Bilgoray region of Southeast Poland. The breed type is generally about 130-140cm (12-13 hands) weighing 380kg and is mouse-dun coloured, although black and sorrel can occasionally occur. The Konik is classified as a rare breed and small residual herds are found in Poland, the Baltic States, Eastern Germany, The Netherlands and a herd has been established on Wicken Fen in Cambridgeshire and here on Crome's Broad, Norfolk. Taken with Polaroid Land camera Model 355 on Fuji FP100C pack film.

Week thirteen...polaroid fun for when we all need a bit of instant gratification..

A row of school buses parked for the summer at our local grade school. I didn't think I'd ever get to use this camera, because they haven't made the special type of film it takes in probably 50 years or so. But, I noticed the shutter worked, even without batteries, so I cut down some 120 film, positioned it carefully where I thought it should be, (in total darkness, of course!), and then shot with it. For the first attempt, I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Now I can mark off another camera in my collection that I've used. My goal is to be able to say I've used every camera in my collection - all 267 of them. (And counting....?)

Taken with my hundred and twenty-sixth camera. This image is not cropped, I simply scanned it to all the edges. It turned out the same dimensions as a 35mm negative, so I suppose that's the shape the original instant prints must have been. And I must have gotten lucky in where I positioned the negative in the camera because it was level and where it needed to be, apparently.
