Spring 'roidweek 2025

Finally got around to creating a space to post my Polaroid shots over on Instagram (@polaroidsbyscott) and it's nice to share here for the first time in so long!

Starting with the first “proper” photo I was able to take with my SX-70 back in August 2021.

I got my #SX70 off eBay in October 2020 however the mirror inside was catching (a known- issue with the early SX-70 models) so you had to shoot the camera on it’s side to be able to get a “proper” photo from it.

Over half a year later I sent it off to Polanthropy down in London to get fixed and converted to take 600 film instead of the slower SX-70 film and decided to capture my first “proper” photo from it on camera which is why my 5D mkii is in the background.

This is probably one of my fave self portraits and it’s exciting that I got to capture the moment it was created on camera!

I love Ol to bits and I was trying to get a candid photo (a hard thing to do nowadays with any camera, never mind a polaroid) and suddenly he did this and instead of waiting it out to get a “proper” one, I pressed the red button and actually LOVE the outcome!

Anyone that knows him knows this is much more him than me trying to make him pose “naturally”.

We had a really serene journey from the bottom of my road to half way to Chorley!

Two friends, a calm canal with amazing summer air and beautiful scenery to boot! (Maybe a beer or two, too!)

This is a Polaroid snapshot of the kitchen sink in my son's house in Fort Wayne, Indiana. My grandparents bought this house in the late 1950s; and my mother spent most of her childhood here. When my grandma died, my mom and my uncle inherited the house and sold it to my son. I live here with him.

We haven't changed the decor in the kitchen; it still has the same wallpaper that has been there as far back as I can remember, and the same old fashioned curtains.

I made this while testing out Polaroid's black & white SX-70 film.
