Rebooting my Flickr presence with this new polaroid self portrait. The light was fleeting, and too perfect to not snap.
Shot on a Speed Graphic 4x5 camera with Buhl 152mm f2.5 lens and the polaroid taped in the film holder.
Just one of my many Pola's.
I now own a nice collection of Polaroid vintage cameras thanks to a wonderful friend.

An oldie from the archives for 'Roid Week – from the second pack of Time Zero that I ever shot, all the way back in 2010! If you want to see them, the others I shot that day are here.
Roid Week is my favourite time of year on Flickr. For the rest of the year, if you want to see what I'm up to, the place to go is my Twitter, where I mainly tweet about my books & books in general, but also try to put up a Polaroid a day...
I started taking Polaroid pictures recently. I was wondering if I should share my new passion here as well.

The desert casita where I stayed was my dream come true vacation lodging in Sonoran Desert surrounded by saguaros and other desert vegetation. I particularly liked shooting in the backyard and study light changing during the day.
Souvenirs perdus, souvenirs rêvés,
lumières dissoutes, ombres funestes,
couleurs fanées, couleurs outrées,
ma vie est là, en vrac,
intime fourre-tout...
L’œil se perd, s’épuise et se meurt
dans le carré photo humide
séchant entre mes doigts fébriles.

Polaroid SX-70 Original
Color SX-70 Film
I-Type Polaroid film comes in packs of 8 shots. In Australia they work out at about $4 per shot (so this isn't a cheap exercise). In that expired pack of 8 prints the results are completely random. This photo faithfully reproduces the colour and light and is generally a little print that one would be happy to put into an album as people did in the past.
This shows the Lady Nelson, a replica ship of the one that first brought settlers to Hobart in 1803.
