The other side of the gun, was just going to upload the other one as this side needs a bit more work.
I was dissapointed with my Bofors guns on my LCS so decided to push myself with the design of this a bit.
The elevation mechanism was the main nightmare for this, and still doesn't quite allow for 70 degrees which I think was closer to the real ones, but further work may remedy that.
EDIT: As of Jan'10 further mods have been made to the barrel, sights and traverse gear. The gun now elevates a few degrees higher.
This is a glass vase painted like a soccer-ball filled with water.
With a well concealed fire cracker hidden inside.
The plastic dinosaur and the HulaGuy are pointless additions. Another pointless addition was a bunch of red/green and yellow polymer balls floating in the water.
The water and glass chips raining down on my head and back were refreshing in the warm garage.
The least pointless thing is the little drops of red colored water below the HulaGuy. I accidentally dropped them on the foam sheet and they are jumping for joy as the shock wave hits them. Maybe I should try a shot with lots of little dots of different colored water surrounding a water filled vase.
It's gonna get hot here in the next weeks. I probably won't be blowing stuff up in my garage for a while.
My view counter is due to hit eight million in a few days also. It's been fun.

Does the orange paint symbolize anything? The only orange thing I can think of is the current resident of the White House. This did happen after Trump promised that Saturday night was going to be MAGA Night, whatever that means.

It has been confirmed that the class 769 electro-diesel conversions for GWR (from class 319s) will not now be entering service with GWR! After many years of work and testing, it has been decided that their lease with GWR will not be renewed from March 2023 onwards, meaning effectively that they will never enter service with the operator whose livery they have carried for years now and for whom their interiors have been fitted out. Their destiny is not known, but it is not impossible that they will never see revenue-earning service at all and will be scrapped. A very sad state of affairs on today's railway.
769959 stands at Guildford on yet another test/proving run, waiting to proceed towards Redhill.
Pointless reference to U2 to reflect that this is a capture of the recently introduced U2 bus service from Bristol University to their Vet College near Langford. Climbing the A38 near Bristol Airport and with the city stretching out behind is 33491 YY67HAA, one of the nicely appointed ADL e400mmc allocated to the U1 usually but doing a spin on the U2 for a change.

A pointless remake of old photo. Original was one of a set for print outs to try how a bit different look works on paper prints. In the end my remake ended up looking almost identical to original, I just used a different route to the result. The photo is supposed to be something of a cross between black and white and color photo. Tonal range is maximized as in BW photo but saturation is "half" instead of none. I used Gegl c2g layer on top of the color photo to reduce the saturation. Almost identical result can be achieved directly just by reducing saturation when developing the raw.

Old road directional signpost that has lost it's direction arms. The location is a bit strange as it is located at the junction of a major route (A40) and a farm track.

I've never been a great believer in partaking of a large cooked breakfast, then wasting it all by walking it off. However, in the interest of obtaining more interesting 'modern' bus shots, I thew caution to the wind and trekked to a suitable place to record the passing of Arriva's open top service between Capel Curig and Pen-y-pass. That's where the plan foundered somewhat. The open top Scania (or whatever) turned up at the appointed time ... masquerading as an Alexander bodied Dennis Dart, and worse still, not even in fleet livery but blighted by an overall ad. To compound the misery, it was travelling so fast that It's now slightly blurred ... think I'll take up stamp collecting. Would have looked quite good here I think, particularly if the sun was out.

On a related note, this car park has a preservation order on its walls and surface and is reputedly the only listed car park in the country.
