It has always excited me to watch dogs do what they were bred to do. The intensity of a dog doing it good is very exciting to me. I hope we never loose the right to own purebred breeds.
The 2017 Capital Region Toys For Tots Train has finished its last stop and is leaving Rouses Point with AMTK 88 leading.
The Point Arena Lighthouse stands tall and proud on the Northern California Mendocino Coast.
This lighthouse was built in 1908 to replace an earlier version after the original brick lighthouse was damaged beyond repair in the Great San Francisco Earthquake.
Constructed of reinforced concrete, this lighthouse was built by a company that specialized in smokestacks, which is why it looks like one.
At 115 feet tall, the Point Arena Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse on the U.S West Coast (tied with Pigeon Point)
Point Arena is the closest point to Hawaii on the U.S. mainland, which makes this as close as I will probably ever get to Hawaii.
I used a KITE to fly the camera.

An hour after sunset ... I’m playing in the mud under old pier ... what remains of it. I was happy that I was there at low tide. After falling on my ass climbing down the embankment ( wet leaves + gravity = save the camera never mind the rest fall ). Actually mud on the shore was quite hard and easy to setup tripod. I will try to go back to the same spot but for early morning shots.

Rough Point is one of the Gilded Age mansions of Newport, Rhode Island, now open to the public as a museum. It is an English Manorial style home designed by architectural firm Peabody & Stearns for Frederick William Vanderbilt. Construction on the red sandstone and granite began in 1887 and was completed 1892.

Taken this morning couldn't resist putting in a lens flare. Is the lens flare to corny or what ~ Best Large~
Arnish Point lighthouse near Stornoway, on a rare sunny day.
The simple shapes here made me try a different tonemapping technique, and I went for something slightly grungy.

An in-camera ICM shot taken at Point Richie where evidence of human life from 120,000 years ago was recently found.
The Point Bonita lighthouse sits on the tip of Marin County near the entrance to the Golden Gate Bridge
A while back I read that this landmark shipwreck had been set fire by careless photographers spinning steel wool. It has been burned on the stern but still remains on the beach as a historic feature at Point Reyes. 182/366.
Brace yourself, because at the top of the path you'll hit the windiest point on the Pacific coastline, where you literally have to be careful not to get blown off the cliff.
My first attempt to capture the milky way.... what could go wrong,,,.Im on the Lizard and its definiotely dark... first the torch refused and yes it was dark.... but not as dark as I imagined...yes, I had forgotten the nearby lighthouse would illuminate the site every 20 seconds,,,, and the stop watch was somewhere in the car, hidding in the blackness...the list of catastrophies grew as the milky way rose above me and was gone... still, the shots achieved suggest to me it will be worth future attempts.... time will tell.
