A buck that seemed pretty aggressive. Despite the is size in comparison to the nine-pointers I saw the same day, this guy seemed pretty curious. The moment he saw me, he came walking right to the bushes edge and stared at me for a little while. I was pretty out-in-the-open, so he obviously wasn't very scared. Multiple times, he would turn and walk a little deeper into the shrubbery, then a few minutes later come right back with a fast paced, confident stride. A few times he came out of the bush and would trot a bit too close for my liking so I would simply wave a hand or stand up and he would stop in his tracks and stare instead.
Beautiful animals. But during the rut, i'm quite a bit more cautious around the stags. This is the only four-pointer we have around this year and he seems to be one of the more aggressive ones. He's probably trying to act all tough to make up for his antler size....
