There are two mobs of Brolga at the Western Treatment Plant- the parents with the chick I showed a few uploads ago and this family of four-two adults and two teenagers (I think). These are the same ones I captured tumpeting some time ago. It must be something about me as once again, when I approached they threw their heads back and started with their very loud trumpeting.

Not the most romantic of sounds, unless of course you are a Brolga I suppose.

I just felt like adding alittle texture to the background. Sorry if that offends the bird purists!

Brown Falcon (Falco berigora)

Seen while on a Birdlife Melbourne walk at Point Cook Coastal Park

Some days are diamonds and some days aren't. Spent a few hours at Western Treatment Plant today and this is the only bird shot I was happy with. I did however see a White-bellied Sea Eagle, though wasn't quick enough to get a good image.

Andrew and I were discussing last time we were out that birdos are happy to tick a box when they have seen a bird but birdo photographers feel like it just doesn't count unless we get the shot as well!

I hope you have managed to avoid all the blockers

Point Cook, Melbourne

Acanthiza iredalei. Point Cook. I had a great day here and owe a big thanks to David for his help and advice. Met a couple of photographers and we chatted, as you do. The guy looked over my shoulder, 'oh there's a Thornbill'. So I welcomed another lifer to the collection. Middle of the afternoon... light was blazing...but it'll do 'till I get a better shot.

Black Swan (Cygnus atratus)

A day taken up with re-jigging all the family's mobile phones so a couple of images from the archives.

Will catch up as I can.

Such beautiful art by Jimmy Dvate, highlighting the wildlife of the Skeleton Creek habitats. The previous image in my stream shows the other side of the wall.
