A Montreal landmark is Windmill Point which juts out into Lac St. Louis and includes an old Windmill and a Monastery. It is a favourite place for artists to sketch, paint, photograph or just visit along the West Island area of Montreal, both in summer and winter. It is located in the old Village of Pointe Claire.
The Point Vicente Lighthouse was built in 1926 marking the north end of the treacherous Catalina Channel on the Pacific coast to warn mariners of rocky reefs along shoreline cliffs. Catalina Island in the background.

The iconic Nugget Point (or 'The Nuggets' as referred to by the locals) is located near Kaka Point. There is a car park area from where you commence your walk to the Nugget Point Lighthouse. Wave-eroded rocks, which are likened to the shape of gold nuggets, can be seen from the viewing platform at the end of the path.

Point Bonita Lighthouse at the entrance to the Golden Gate on the Marin Headlands, California, ca 1877. Taken on a foggy morning in June 2023 with a Minolta 303 camera and 28-50 f3.5 macro MD lens. Shot with Kodak Tri-x at box speed, developed in XTOL 1+1 for 9 min at 20c.

River Point, previously known as 200 North Riverside Plaza, is a 52 story 730 ft. tall skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois, located at 444 West Lake Street. The 52-story building has 1,000,000 sq ft of floor space. It sits on air rights above active railroad tracks and as well the subway portion of the CTA Blue Line, which affected the angle of some support columns, which in turn produced the parabolic arch in the base of the building.
This shot captures the star light of the Island the Point Prim Lighthouse the oldest lighthouse on PEI, built in 1845 and has been standing guard over the Charlottetown harbour ever since. Point Prim not only has the distinction of being the oldest in PEI but also one of the rarest in the country being one of only two brick cylindrical lighthouses in Canada. The Lighthouse stands 60 feet high and has been sheathed in cedar shingles over its brick interior almost from the time of its construction it has served as a guardian of mariners, a symbol of PEI, a tourist attraction, as well as a favorite picnic spot for the locals.

Out with the Focus crew down to Little Austi (just north of Austinmer) on a rock shelf called Brickyard Point. The headland in the background is Bells Point. A rising tide and a 1.5m swell gave these consistent waterfalls into the channel. Lots of time to work on different comps which is unusual.

Shot at twilight from Point Molate Beach Park. I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice park here on Pt. Molate with great views of Mt Tamalpais and San Pablo Bay. It's nice to see we have some clean open space here. Bravo!
Where the sun reached through the trees it looked beautiful. Where it was dark, it was spooky as ever!
Point Arena Lighthouse is perhaps the most breath taking lighthouse along the California coast. The tallest of the lighthouses in California, its location along the Mendocino County Coastline is also the closest to the Hawaiian Islands --not that it means anything--it's just a fun fact. Usually there is healthy blanket of fog draped along the coast during the spring months. I was lucky on this early spring morning to catch this venerable old lighthouse aglow with the radiant light of a brand new day.
