Split Point lighthouse, Victoria, Australia. I wanted a very different image from when I visited 19 years previously:

Almost got a sunset! Aways a gamble on the Central Coast.
From North Point, Strand Beach, Morro Bay, ca.
With lockdowns being eased, the lads from work and I decided to start the climbing season with a small climb up a Corbett called Morrone. 1.5 miles doesn't sound too far, but it's all uphill so it might take a while!
29 September 2019: Sunset at Vista Point overlooking Chimney Rock and Courthouse Mountain in the Uncompahgre Wilderness of Colorado.
Pigeon Point Lighthouse, one of the tallest on the U.S. West Coast, was built in 1872 to warn ships of the treacherous coast, inspired by the 1853 wreck of the clipper Carrier Pigeon (hence the name) and several subsequent deadly shipwrecks, including the Coya. Now an active Coast Guard aid, the lighthouse tower is undergoing major restoration but still functions, while the keeper's quarters serve as a hostel, making it a historic landmark rich in maritime history and natural beauty.
It's late September at Llanerch vineyard, south Wales, and the grape harvest is well underway. Some late-ripening bunches remain to be picked.
Llanerch is Wales' largest commercial vineyard, with over 22,000 vines, with many rows of vines stretching to - a vanishing point!
HSoS!
As we were taking off from Martin State Airport, we had a nice view of Wilson Point there that sticks out towards the Chesapeake Bay. I marked on the photo where my Dad's house is located. Also marked some other features in the photo like downtown Baltimore, etc.
Just about all the homes there on the end of Wilson Point ended up with water in them when Hurricane Isabel came up the East Coast. You can see how easily that thin peninsula does not provide a lot of protection from water being blown in from across the large bay.
Shot of Promontory Point in the Great Salt Lake from Antelope Island. The tone from NIK Filters is just an experiment.
Ka’ena Point, the northwestern most tip of the Hawaiian island of O’ahu, is to my back here. This smallish triangle of land at the point of the island is fenced off to protect the Laysan albatross nesting colony in front of me from predators that would raid their nests and eat their eggs.
Point Betsie Light is located on the northeast shore of Lake Michigan — at the southern entrance to the Manitou Passage — north of Frankfort in Benzie County in Northern Michigan. Construction began in 1854, but it was not completed until 1858, and began service in the shipping season of 1859.
The name Point Betsie originates from the Native American people who were in the area and communicating with the French at the time. The French "Pointe Aux Bec Scies" comes from the Indigenous word "Ug-Zig-A-Zee-Bee" which People of the Three Fires [Tribal] Council gave to a river flowing into Lake Michigan just a few miles to the south, where sawbill or Merganser ducks thrived. Translated, Point Betsie means Saw Beak Point.
