For this Monday,
I locked back into my 2022 files and found this contrasted #momo shot I'd like to share with you; a memory of a really good day spent in Brescia.
At the Solitario - Bend Bend Ranch, deep in far west Texas. This image captures the western flank of the Solitario structure. It marked an explosive volcanic event where a mountain blew its top off, about 30 million years ago. Geologically, it is called a 'laccocaldera'. It can be seen from space, or you could just go there and camp.

A bird of the forest canopy, it is a heavy fruit eater with a special preference for berries. However, it also eats vertebrate prey, including eggs and nestling birds, small lizards and even snakes. (ref: canopytower.com)
A little bit of colour
A #colorsplash of Blue banded bee making a visit to white butterfly bush. Blue Banded Bees (Amegilla cingulate) is a solitary bee which has loud buzz when they hover and are one of my favourite bee species. With it's bright, steely cyan bands and gigantic eyes proportional to it's body, it's a beauty.
I am thrilled that I am growing a garden which has started attracting bees, moths and butterflies.
Amegilla cingulate are pain in the butt to photograph. They are fast moving and even buzz you, if you are too close and they feel threatened or annoyed. They do not live in hives but burrow a hole in the earth and live solitary.

Charles Baudelaire was baptized in Saint-Sulpice (1821), and the church also saw the marriage of Victor Hugo to Adèle Foucher (1822). ✨
It is only slightly smaller than Notre-Dame and thus the second-largest church in Paris. Construction of the present building, the second church on the site, began in 1646. 🌹
