This is the first year our Itoh Peony flowered and was very surprised at the size of these seed pods!!
Itoh peonies, with their spectacular flowers and beautiful colors are a gift to gardeners everywhere.
Itoh peonies originated by crossing herbaceous peonies and tree peonies, and they combine the best features of each. While they have the mounded growth habit of herbaceous peonies and die back to the ground in winter, they also produce immense flowers like tree peonies.
Laundry detergent pods. For the Macro Mondays group. Topic: Handle with care. These little detergent pods are quite fragile and squish easily. They are convenient but must be kept out of the reach of children because the look very much like candy. HMM!

Seed pods of poppies. I developed this in Adobe Lightroom and applied a preset subject concerts CT 05. One of the new adaptive presets from Adobe.
The Neuron Pod is part of the Blizard Institute of Cell and Molecular Science in Whitechapel. It houses the Centre of the Cell, a science education centre.
It was designed by architect Will Alsop and opened in 2019.

Ontario Place Pods, Toronto, were designed by Eb Zeidler. They were originally used for exhibitions at this public park/attraction. Now much of Ontario Place needs renovation. The city and citizen groups have been arguing what to do about it -- some want to demolish it and others want to renovate it because of its cultural heritage. Grunge texture added.
Came upon these seed pods on the edge of a field and thought they were quite beautiful

Redbuds, Cercis canadensis, produce a lot of flowers, and, consequently, lots of fruits. Here are just a few of them. They resemble pea and bean pods, among other fruit from the legume family.

The obligatory full London Eye photo except for a missing pod near the top! I'm sure I heard something in the news recently about the Eye undergoing repairs and maintenance and maybe the missing pod is part of the overall scheme.

It's been a few months of complete lack of motivation for photography, and almost no opportunities to take photos. So today I ventured out on a regular walk from my place - first time with a camera for a while. There wasn't anything 'new' that I thought i'd photograph - I kind of resigned myself to enjoy taking lots of images of the regular cormorants who own the rocky outcrops of the Taroona foreshore. So I did and it felt good.
But then on the way back, just after i'd swapped out the 400mm lens for a 24-70mm lens a large pod of dolphins and seals swam up to the foreshore, right in front of me!! So with a quick fumble of changing back to a big tele lens (and all the wrong camera settings you have in this kind of scenario) I managed to get some images! There's quite a few good images that i'll process in the next week or so.
