We were able to get some nice images of this piece tonight, however, it still looks better in person. It's up for 2 more weeks at flatcolor gallery in Seattle. If you haven't had a chance you should come down and visit.

Fleur du salsifis du Midi (Tragopogon porrifolius subsp. australis)
Description : Plante à tige dressée (jusqu'à 50cm), renflée sous le capitule, à longues feuilles étroites, dilatées à la base, souvent ondulées. Les bractées dépassent longuement les fleurs d'un violet noirâtre. Très proche cousin du salsifis cultivé.
Habitat : Pelouses sèches et garrigues

................. est l’allégorie pertinente de la réalisation de l’être humain par la géométrie de la triple croix.
Trois axes traversent l’homme. Axe arrière/avant: Passé/futur, cet axe doit être équilibré, être conscient d’ou nous venons, savoir nous projeter dans l’avenir afin de vivre pleinement le présent. Axe gauche/droite: Le don et l’accaparement, être capable de donner, d’offrir autant que ce que l’on prend à la vie, la terre, la nature. Enfin l’axe bas/haut, avoir les pieds sur terre et la tête dans les étoiles. Les trois axes se rejoignent au niveau du plexus cardiaque et permet à l’homme de s’unir avec lui même et donc avec le Divin. Malheureusement, souvent l’être va chercher, par facilité a s’unir avec le compagnon ou la compagne qui détient la partie manquante… Le début des problèmes pour une union basée sur un déficit, un manque, un besoin qui mènera la plupart du temps à l ‘échec ! Ce principe vient d’Asie, l’AdvaÏta, mais on le retrouve avec la triple croix grec « Ter Crucem » et le Chrisme Chrétien Iota et Ki, Iésus Khristos.

I went with members of my photo club to tour this fine museum. I was totally immersed in the magical elements of this wonderful sculpture! I've included the web link for anyone interested in reading about the detail of this work and the artist.

The Amon Carter has commissioned a large-scale, site-specific installation of more than eighty miles of multicolored thread by internationally celebrated Mexican-born, Dallas-based artist Gabriel Dawe.
Words cannot do justice to the transformative power of Dawe’s sculptural marvels, which he weaves from thousands of thin strands. They look like frozen light and Technicolor vaporous mist, drawing attention to the majestic architecture and natural light of the museum’s Atrium, designed by renowned architect Philip Johnson.

Plexus a piece of dynamic public art by Stephen Newby. Plexus stands just over 5m in hight weighs 250 kilos,the sculpture's illusional sci-fi aesthetics are created by 31 reflective coloured panels that have been fashioned by using a unique 'patened' procedure of inflating and stretching stainless steel, Can be seen to the left of the west side entrance to Netpark on the Durham -Sedgefield road (Old Durham Road) 177 near Sedgefield, Co Durham, Uk.

We hung plexus today down at Flatcolor Gallery today. It looks nice on a clean white wall. If you live in the Seattle area you should come down on Thursday for the opening to check it out.
