After nearly three months, The Argonath is finally done!
It came it at just over 6000pcs.
It stands 36 cm high, 41 cm wide, 43 cm long.
I am very pleased the client had the confidence in me to do this build :) I can't wait to order the bricks in and build it IRL.

Front facade complete, with the exception of a few tweaks here and there.
So far about 20,000 pcs (6400 hundred are just the dark red cylinders for the roof!)
Over the next couple of days I will be doing all the internal structure up to this point. I am designing it so that each of the sections connectors to a main technic frame in the middle. That should make the build more manageable and easier to move around if needed.

My part of the haunted house design is complete! From here Tomas will be taking my design, building it IRL and motorizing it :D I can't wait to see the final result, it will be epic!
In total, the dimensions are 79.9cm x 56.3cm x 55.5cm. It is comprised of 21500 pcs. at this point, but I would guess the final count will be closer to 25000. So far, the design has taken about nine weeks.

The last tower is in!
I had to do some modifications to the entry ramp and bridge to shorten the width. The width of it will fit perfect on 3 - 32x32 base plates as was in the initial design overview.
Before I go any further I have to confer with my co-designer to make sure everything matches what they need.

I wanted to see if I could do a complete circle with this method. With the exception of the very middle aperture it is complete. I covered the middle by trapping a smooth round plate, the rest is straight up legit.

The first render of a project I am very excited about, the Imperial City of Vardos. This design is being commissioned and built by Solid Bricks Productions and will be shown at a convention in the United States this year.
This project will be a huge 4x6 city including a courtyard (as seen), citadel, landing pad, AT-AT hanger and much more. I can't wait for the final result it will be epic!

Easily one of the hardest things to pull off in Lego is a dome. I worked on a few concepts this morning and this is the best of them so far. Lots of gaps to fill, but the fit and shape are correct. I don't want to go with too many off the wall techniques as I want to keep this buildable by the public.

Here is your first look the interior of the citadel of Vardos.
on the first floor is a huge foyer dominated by the massive spiral staircases, volcanic feature, and huge supporting columns. For scale you can see two Storm troopers standing at their guards stations.

I have almost finished up Isildur for the Argonath commission. Now I need to start filling in the cliff sections that connect to him.
This is the style of rock I think will work great for this project. It is basically a combination of Emil Lidé's terraced plate technique with some slopes added in the layers to smooth out some transitions.

Starting to get BIG now! Got a good chunk done this weekend. The central tower is now in place. Not 100% sure about the balcony door or the colour on the balcony yet, but the rest came out solid I think.

Finished what I think are two of the most complicated sections in this design. The roof peak and the balcony had so many details on angled surfaces it took all my tricks to figure out how to fit it all in.

Phew 3rd times charm! I was given another helping hand by Colin Lang and directed to a sculpting tutorial. That gave my the insight I needed to get the body proportions right. Just goes to show how much LEGO does overlap with other visual arts.
Now onto the howdah after I do some housekeeping and make sure all the connections are sound.
