back from summer vacation...
The fact that the island of Tenerife is so diverse is probably most known to Europeans. For those who don't know this island yet, maybe I can arouse their interest with this series.

The sun sets over the island of La Gomera*, as seen from Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
I was going to call this photo 'I got myself a smartphone' as I've finally consigned my 10 year old Nokia workhorse (phone calls and text messages!) to history, and upgraded to a new Samsung. It even has internet access!
I just got it before I headed out to Tenerife in April, and this is one from the phone's camera.
* 40 km/24 miles away.

Playa de las Américas: Parque Santiago IV from the promenade

A few of us decided to take a break from the dark Winter nights and the Atlantic storms, and made a dash to Tenerife for ten days in late November & early December.
That's not any of the 'few of us' in the shot by the way, but some kindred spirits, enjoying some December sunshine on a much less rain-sodden, warmer and cheaper Atlantic island than I happen to live on!
