You stand on the platform to play the octobass. Somehow, the foot pedals control the pitches along with the hand levers above.
While at Damon's the opportunity was taken to check on progress at the nearby VMR.

Should you eat this stuff or not? Two schools of thought:- 1) Not on any any account; probably prepared in less than ideal conditions, etc etc. 2) Provided it is piping hot and freshly prepared, no problem - probably safer than some hotel food. My advice - Doesn't matter whether you eat it or not, you're going to get the runs anyway! We didn't eat it - and got the runs - but it certainly smelled good. One of the 'problems' with film photography was what to do when you were left with that one last picture on the roll of film. Wait till the next time you went out and carry a spare roll in your pocket or to just shot it off and drop the completed roll off at the chemist's? There was never the thought of just wasting that last bit of film by not exposing the frame and it was more bother than it was worth to just leave the roll in the camera with only the one shot left.
So often you would just frame up a shot you would never consider at any other time. This image is a result of that dilemma. Hennapyn Road Bridge, the Torquay South Signal Box with a cluster of platform trollies and ramp, the Western Region lower quadrant signal, the signs on the bridge, I believe, telling freight trains to pin down their brakes and a Gloucester R. C. & W. Co. 3 Car Cross Country leaving towards Paignton. The middle carriage is still in all over blue livery.
Standing on platform 5 at Crewe with the Transport for Wales 1V39 10.30 Manchester Piccadilly-Cardiff Central (13.42) service, using the black liveried Mk4 set lead by DVT 82230 with DB Cargo's Class 67 67022 on the rear.

The light pollution near San Francisco is too intense for long star trails without stacking. Increasing the exposure time increases the length of the trail, but it also increases the brightness of the sky background. Eventually, the stars vanish into the sky background. This 10 minute exposure is near the limit. Any more time would have made too many stars disappear.
The glow on the right is the light pollution from San Francisco. The glow on the left is probably from Sausalito and Tiburon.

Got my Heated Build Platform parts from Ponoko today!
Things to fix in the next version:
- Bottom build platform magnet & bolt holes are in the wrong place.
- Need 0.4mm bumps instead of 0.1mm for better friction fit of perpendicular parts.
- Delrin was too thick for 3*2mm layers; was probably 0.1"=2.54mm thick. May simplify to two layers & fill gap anyway.
Toy wish list: vinyl cutter like CraftRobo for paper prototyping and thermochromic sheet cutting.
I'm sure many a long goodbye or excited hello took place on the forgotten platform...

Massive isolation platform for my turntable cabinet. Designed to reduce the effect of external vibrations. Constructed with wood framing, hardboard top and bottom panels and filled with sand for mass.
This photo shows the sand in the frame. The sand was packed, then scraped to a level flush with the frame. The holes in the frame at right are so that more sand can be added if there is significant compaction due to vibrations.

As S.M.A.R.T. 109/104 unload passengers, the platform at Airport becomes rather crowded. People have been told a few times what is going to happen, yet they still manage to stay on the wrong side of the yellow line. Once Ambassadors and Transit Operators move them away, S.M.A.R.T. 109/104 will move East (Compass North) to clear not only the platform but Airport Blvd.

Looking up at the high limestone cliffs which surround the shipwreck beach. One can see the steel viewing platform, where this and so many other pictures were taken.
