Pomona Station is one of a number of Railway Stations in Queensland with unmanned platforms. The original Railway Station buildings were moved closer to the village in 2000 and converted to The Old Pomona Railway Station Gallery and Blacksmiths’ Shop.
Pomona is a railway station on the Nambour and Gympie North Line of South East Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Queensland Rail City network. The station platform was extended in late 2009 to accommodate six-car passenger trains, while new closed circuit television cameras have been installed to improve passenger safety. The station is also equipped with a public telephone and Go-Card electronic ticket readers.

Because of the unusual popularity of this shot, I finally found out by Scout that this photo makes its way to Explore without my notice! Although there're so many complain out there about the way Explore is selecting photos recently, I still hope that this shot deserves its place.

LLANGOLLEN RAILWAY is a mainly Steam hauled Heritage Railway Line starting at Llangollen Station located beside the Dee River Bridge in Llangollen Town, and continuing for 7 ½ miles upstream, following the River Dee to the village of Carrog.
The Railway remains close to the waters of the river for most of it’s length, On the north bank at Llangollen Station, the river is crossed on to the south bank via the Dee Bridge, approximately one mile upstream from Llangollen.
Llangollen Railway was started in 1975 by a group of enthusiasts who saw the potential for a scenic heritage line through the Dee Valley. Their original vision grew into what you can see today.
7 ½ miles of track have been re-laid westwards along the track-bed of the old Ruabon to Barmouth main line, through to Carrog, where the line presently terminates.
The old main line closed to passenger traffic in 1965 and to goods in 1968. The track, signaling and much of the infrastructure was removed or demolished quickly after this, although Llangollen, Berwyn and Carrog Station buildings survived.
The enthusiasts commemorated the re-opening in 1975 with an open day at Llangollen Station where 60 feet of track had been relaid. The rest, as they say, is history. Berwyn was reached in 1985, Deeside in 1990, Glyndyfrdwy in 1993 and Carrog in 1996.

Ours was the train on the right, and as usual, a large number of the passengers disembarked for a breath of fresh air, to stretch weary legs, and to buy provisions.
The lady to the left of centre is handing a loaf of bread to the man in the mail / goods carriage of the train that was already at the platform when we arrived, and which departed shortly after this was taken - a timely sale.

Arnos Grove station was built as part of the first section of the northward extension of the Piccadilly Line to Cockfosters. This seven-mile extension beyond the original terminus of Finsbury Park, to serve the enlarging suburban areas in north Middlesex, was authorised by a parliamentary Act of 4 June 1930, and was overseen by Frank Pick (1878-1941), the visionary administrator of the Underground Group and Chief Executive of the London Transport Passenger Board from 1933. The first section of the extension, from Finsbury Park to Arnos Grove, which included the stations at Manor House, Turnpike Lane, Wood Green and Bounds Green, was opened on 19 September 1932. Southgate and Enfield West (now Oakwood) followed in March 1933, and the terminus at Cockfosters opened on 31 July 1933.
Work on Arnos Grove started in 1931. Like most of the stations on both the east and west extensions of the Piccadilly Line, it was designed by Charles Henry Holden (1875-1960). However, much of the practical detail for Arnos Grove was undertaken within the practice of Adams, Holden, and Pearson by Holden's chief assistant at the time, Charles Hutton (1907-95). The first of Holden's stations with a circular ticket hall, its design of a cylinder within a square was, according to Hutton, based on a groundsman's lodge at Midhurst Sanatorium designed by Adams, Holden, and Pearson in 1904-6. Others have identified the Stockholm City Library (1920-28 by Erik Gunnar Asplund), which Pick and Holden had visited in 1930, as an influence. Following problems at Sudbury Town, and subsequently at Arnos Grove, with leaking shuttering for the concrete roof discolouring the brickwork, the construction methods were changed part way through the project and the load-bearing brick walls were replaced with a reinforced-concrete frame with brick infill. This necessitated changes to the design, carried out by Hutton, with the entrances repositioned to fit the sixteen concrete stanchions grouped in pairs between the windows and changes to the proportions. The Piccadilly Line stations of Charles Holden are among the first and most widely celebrated examples of modern architecture in Britain. They are significant for bringing this new idiom to the general public, and for imposing a brand image to buildings and design when this was still novel. The stations are perhaps unique in the admiration they attracted from more experienced foreign architects and critics, for Britain was elsewhere backward in modern architecture and design. Arnos Grove represents perhaps the single most powerful architectural composition by Charles Holden in his work for London Underground and as a single clear statement of the architect's classic early 1930s style it is unsurpassed. The station was listed at Grade II in 1971 and renovated in the late 1980s to a high standard.

The now long since disused (2nd Jan 1954) Bay Platform and Track at Robertsbridge where the Kent and East Sussex Railway once terminated. Their are hopes to once again run the now Preserved K&ESR to Robertsbridge again in the future. The Preserved Rother Valley Railway which became the K&ESR is behind the car park on the left.
Platform tickets at Oxford caused me and my traveling buddy Craig to have a run in with the British Transport Police.
We sometimes bought platform tickets when we made spotting trips. This was in addition to our regular ticket. On our return to Oxford, we would use the platform tickets to leave the station. This allowed us to keep our day trip tickets as souvenirs.
One day though, the station staff changed the color of the Platform tickets between our departure and return. The BTP were waiting at the station exit, and when we tried to use our Platform tickets at the exit, we were nabbed. The police officers were quite disappointed to discover we had valid tickets and quite incredulous that we'd go to such trouble just to keep a ticket...
