Finally got some IDF decals on my Academy 1/48 scale, IDF Piper Super Cub. A rather difficult kit for myself, I took great pains with my poor skills to try and get those canopy lines right.

Finished....?

Triumph Tiger 100

After months in the field without a chance for repair and resupply, Lt. Jin's SAFS had seen better days. A sniper ambush had nearly killed him, melting through most of the armor on the main cockpit hatch and frying the main cockpit displays. He'd had no choice but the strip the hatch and replace it with a woven hat to keep the worst of the elements off of him... With the start of the rainy season, he'd also had to built large wooden sandals to keep from getting bogged down, and add canvas shrouds to keep the worst of the muck out of the knee joints.

The one bit of luck he'd had was finding a pre-war titanium laminate ōdachi in an abandoned homestead while scavenging for supplies. Before the war, it would have been a tasteless display of wealth and power, as it was far too large for anyone to actually wield... But with the enhanced strength of his SAFS, the blade was still sharp enough to pierce the armor of most AFS or sever limbs at unarmored joints.

Here is my just completed Airfix 1/48 scale Spitfire Mk 22. Fun building it but the sliding canopy just will not fit correctly.

1:24 scale model built from Tamiya kit. Focus-stacked image created in Photoshop from 22 shots. I built this model a number of years ago. This image shows the detail (as well as the flaws!).

VF-1D Valkyrie, Gerwalk configuration. 1/72 scale plastic model kit from Hasegawa (plus Hasegawa PE set). From the Japanese animation "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross".

I bought this old Monogram 1/48 P-47D Thunderbolt kit part built (cockpit) and no decals.

The decals have come from the scrap box (and look like it) and are not authentic markings.

...update: 6 Feb 2018: I was very surprised today to see that this had 8000+ hits. I don't normally check Explore, but I did with Scout today and saw that this reached #99 yesterday, and now it's dropped. Don't understand why exactly, but that's pretty cool. This was one of the fastest rising videos I've done in the past 10 years. Thanks all!

Here's another version of this classic Star Wars battle that I did last year using my old model kit from 1981:

Check it out if you like this one.

Varnished, weathered, tidied up and put together. From the photos there are a couple of things left to do - wash inside the backpack vents, maybe some touch-ups, but otherwise done!

Here is another P-40 joining the wing on Dulacca International. This time it's an M model from HobbyBoss. My own RAAF decals.

Project goes on ...

Gundam 00: A Wakening of the Trailblazer

This kit is actually the Kinetic 1/48 scale F-16C/D Polish example, but I have built it with very simple easy changes to represent an IDF F-16D. The decals are from the spares box.

A shot from my Instagram account coming to Flickr, usually my Flickr shots go to Instagram. German army Hanomag Sdkfz 251 Half track and Panzer Grenadiers, Tamiya 1/35th scale

If you like the SPC railroad you can find more photos like this in the Jan/Feb issue of Live Steam and Outdoor RR magazine.

Voigtlander 40mm f/2 @ f/6.3

Sponged on some German Black-Brown and then used a brush to join the dots and a toothpick to erase things as well.

I tried to decrease the intensity from bottom to top, but there are a couple of blotchy bits on the arms which got too big and need cleaning up I think.

The "tyres" were done with German Grey but I think I'll go over that with a lighter grey to make it clear they're a different material.

On December 21, 2019, I traveled to the Florida State Fairgrounds to visit the Annual Train Show held at the State Fair Grounds. At the show, there were several operating Layouts of various sizes & Gauges, along with Model Trains, Model Cars, Railroad Themed T-Shirts, Hats, Coffee Mugs and various other Memorabilia.

This Photograph shows an Operating Lionel O-27 Guage Model Railroad Layout with a Downtown Area Long Distance Train Station with Baggage Handling, a Plasticville Frosty Bar, an Ice Cream Truck, a Motel on the other side of the track and two larger Buildings behind the Station.

The Train Show was held one of the Exhibition Halls at the Florida State Fairgrounds, Tampa, Florida.
