Visiting the Misean Cara construction project on 12 April 2024. These are the holidays at the end of Term 1, and so the work can continue all day every day, as the children are not at school. At this time, the classrooms are being plastered, ready for the floor tiles to be laid soon.
External - dry dash finish, rub up sand and cement plinths.
Internal - plasterboard and skim and coving.

Finally, more than a month later than originally intended, the bungalow is plastered. Mostly. Just a couple of bits in the kitchen need to be done at a later date.
When packing up the plasters appear to have taken all my tools with them too. There wasn't a lot, couple of lump hammers, chisel, lights, crowbar, etc. But still.... out of order! I've let the contracts manager know so I'll see what comes back.
I've left a dehumidifier running up there as well as leaving the windows cracked slightly to help things dry out.

Mix the PVA with water,, this seals the wall stopping any suction that will dry out the plaster too quickly making it difficult to work with. Adding the PVA is essential I found it impossible to skim with out it. I coated the wall twice. 5 parts water to 1 part PVA for the initial coat, let that dry overnight, then 3 parts water to 1 part PVA just before starting to put the first coat on
This ceiling is being re-skimmed to create a consistent smooth surface.
(I am not that tall - it is a low ceiling!)
