My daughter bought herself a plasma globe yesterday. Ooooh, lots of sparkly fun for Dad!

A wise man in a storm prays not for safety from danger, but for deliverance from fear. :) Have a great day everybody!!!

I'm still enjoying playing with my daughter's plasma ball. The opportunities are, if not endless, then at least good fun.

Although there for years, I finally really noticed the ZOB Fern Bus Terminal in Pforzheim a couple nights ago as I was trying to stay clear of A8 due to a lengthy traffic jam (aka Stau) while heading back to Stuttgart. Went back this evening to try to get a blue hour shot with a friend and it actually worked out well. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. :-)

Circular stairway of electrified plasma found in Schloss Filseck along B10 near Uhingen, Germany. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. :-)

I have been wanting to experiment with polarized light for some time now, and finally got the chance. These are salad tongs backlit with polarized light and filtered with a circular polarizer. The frame represents a span of 3¼ - inches across.

My daughter bought herself a plasma globe yesterday. I couldn't resist having a play with it. I think they're fab.....

For Macro Mondays - Knob.

Modern finger-pull drawer knob.

Speedlight with red gel - barn doors with thin vertical slit, aimed directly at camera with knob in profile. The right knob is a mirror-image of the left.

Measure twice, cut once.

Our kids Christmas presents come in handy for a bit of photographic inspiration.

Another shot of the plasma globe my daughter's just bought. Great toy for Dad!

Found this mask/headdress thing in my inventory and had to do something with it (story of most of my photos, tbh).

I did more editing on this one than normal, but if you're interested in seeing a before and after, here you go!

Take one picture of a motorcyclist riding toward me on a street in Sao Joao del Rei, MG, Brazil. Throw in a few effects, and you get this. A plasma storm is brewing.

This was one of those times where I trekked off into the middle of nowhere on an adventure deep in the Icelandic northwest. I really had no business doing this trek, but I had scouted a waterfall from satellite, and knew there to be some potentially amazing shots about half a mile into the backcountry. I had not scouted anything out, and what I didn't know was how difficult the terrain would be, and how cold it would get. I had to walk around swamps and essentially through fields of soaking ground to get to this point. It wasn't a good experience. Mostly it was just scary, and I was very thankful an hour or two later to be back at the car.
