Plasma branches

One more I chose from that day, looking towards the NW side from the center of Athens, as the supercell is approaching. The multiple branching was a feature of this bolt that attracted my attention. It was also out and away from the rain/hail shaft but close enough to be captured together with the green hailcore on the left. Looking at the branches sideways, I can only imagine what was going on above the cloud layer.

Shot in Athens, on 24.07.2026, with Canon 5DmkIV, NiSi ND64 filter, iso 100, 1/25'', f/3.2 and Sigma Art lens 14 mm.
