So... we seem to have survived covid. Still recovering, but getting there and I'm sure I'll be back to making lots of photos soon. If you have the opportunity to get a vaccine, do it! I'm sure it saved our lives.

Anyway, happy to see blossom out and about :)

Exposure X6, Analog Efex Pro 2

Had real trouble getting my eye in on the dog walk today, but this one turned out OK.

Just a macro of some nettles on the dog walk. I love the extra detail in the younger leaves.

The focus didn't end up where I wanted it, but I actually prefer this to the one where it did!

Not sure what they are though. Seeds maybe?

I'm guessing on the plant ID. If anyone can confirm that this is Triticum aestivum, please comment below. Seen near the French Broad River in Asheville, North Carolina, USA.

Soft peep in a Mother's Day bouquet

From today's dog walk. Surprised I managed to get this as in focus as it is, given the spaniel pulling on my arm!

Captured in the Desert Room at Meijer Gardens.

No idea what this is, but it looked interesting :)

Disclaimer: I'm a hopeless gardener! This Matchstick Bromeliad is in my neighbours garden ;) Wonder why they call them "matchstick" bromeliads ;) Such an unusual plant.

So not much to say other than its a Bromeliad, and its the matchstick variety. And its pink. And blue. Oh, and have a great Friday :))

Macro Monday 5 letter theme - Plant. The plant's "matches" are only a few mm's in length.

Taken at the community garden I help out at. I was initially going to make this B&W, but I flicked it onto false colour in Exposure X4 and it just sort of worked.

A stunning macro photograph capturing the delicate moment of a flower bud just before it blossoms. The vibrant shades of green and hints of violet highlight nature’s elegant design, embodying the serenity and promise of spring. A soft background ensures the viewer's focus remains on the intricate textures of the emerging bloom. See more on frankschmielewski.myportfolio.com/

Possibly not the most imaginative title. Fernily enough it's all I could come up with. And besides, I'm rather frond of it ;)

Anyway, this guy was growing in the rainforest part of Strickland State Forest near here. I liked it's imperfections, which made it look more perfect to me, if that makes sense. And the filtered light reaching through the canopy to parts of the fern. It's the little things in nature and life that I enjoy :)

Have a great week out there !

Lensbaby Composer, Sweet 35 Optic, 12mm + 20mm Extension Tubes (I think).

Went for a high key sort of look with this one. Think it works.
