*Working Towards a Better World
If we're destroying our trees and destroying our environment and hurting animals and hurting one another and all that stuff, there's got to be a very powerful energy to fight that. I think we need more love in the world. We need more kindness, more compassion, more joy, more laughter. I definitely want to contribute to that. - Ellen DeGeneres
If you think in terms of a year, plant a seed; if in terms of ten years, plant trees; if in terms of 100 years, teach the people. -
Confuscius
“The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and deformity... and some scarce see nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself.”
― William Blake
“The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now.” - Anonymous
“A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.” - Basil

Taken for ODC theme plant a seed. Thanks to my daughter Jessica for modeling her caring and nurturing Nurse's hands with the seeds for me. I decided to play around with this one and converted to B&W in lightroom via Preset by Beart. I liked the effect so thought I would share.

Quinoa is grown as a grain crop, but the seeds are the edible part of the plant. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quinoa I use the Sprouted Quinoa because they clean the saponin off the seed which is a bitter coating that ensures the Quinoa's survival.
Since we are moving, we aren't gardening anymore this year. These are Quinoa Seeds. Stu did actually plant this one year in our garden. Today I'm preparing my customary Quinoa And Veggies for Stu to take to work.

Our Daily Challenge ... plant a seed.
My daughter-in-law lost her mother to cancer last year and on the day of the funeral they had a luncheon for family and friends. The children had lunch outside with my husband and I and their cousins' Grandmother under a big Poinciana tree. Someone discovered that there were seeds everywhere and they all joined in to collect them so we could plant them. The little seedling came from one of those seeds. We are going to plant it in memory of Nanna Barb when it gets a bit bigger. As you can see we still have lots of seeds to plant and raise.
