By quite an incredible coincidence, this planetoid panorama was shot on the same day as this one by gadl, in the same Bois de Vincennes, under the same white (and picture saving) sky.

The striking Malachite uses its incredible coloring, large size, and confident elegant flight to win over the hearts of any butterfly lover. Beginning as horned, prickly black caterpillars with red markings, the Malachite turns into a lime green chrysalis spotted with pink and eventually evolves into a stunning adult butterfly.
This is the "little planet" version of ULM.
Saturday night, some of the members of the facebook group "Hobbyfotografen in Ulm und Umgebung" met for a little nightshot workshop which ended up in some kind of lightpainting session.
As I first didn't really feel like taking part, I didn't take my Oly with me but only my Theta S with al little tripod. Usually this is not so usefull for taking long term exposures, but this time anyhow I have managed to produce some really nice shots.
Many thanks to Benni Bayer for the idea of giving that workshop, although maybe the course of the workshop was unexpected. He has contributed the blue light for this and many other pictures.
Many thanks to Patricia Grupp who contributed a lot of lightpainting equipment and experience. In the shot above, she wrote the word "Ulm" which I only realized in the result.
And finally also many thanks to all the others (who also can also be found on the picture). That evening was fun!

Apparently scientists have discovered an oddball planet. So what - I do it all the time! This one, which looks like an Aero is across the Galaxy and beyond the Milky Way.
This was to be my last posting to flickr but I obviously need an outlet for some of the things that buzz around my brain from time to time and this is as good a place as any... or so I'm told.
Apologies to all my contacts for not commenting so much as I used to - I have been building this www.ianfwilliams.com in readiness for world-domination.
Maybe I will come back and play in the heady atmosphere that is flickr - it used to be fun.
In the meantime keep on keeping on and I will visit you all soonish.
Buona giornata

Another shot from Mono Lake, in Calfiornia taken this summer.
I am looking forward to seeing most of you later on this afternoon!
Never built a VV before and Simon is to blame for this one. ;)
I do love the ice planet color combo and had a mental note to use these Ninjago trans orange parts. Besides I've been enjoying Chris's recent Ice Planet mechs!
I'll post more angles on my Insta but wanted to get this up here before I totally miss NoVVember!

My lens isn't wide enough to get all 5 planets in one shot, so, using the tree as a reference, I overlayed two seperate images I snapped showing the "Parade of Planets" from northern NH on Thursday morning (it was too cloudy to view anything from here Friday).

This is one of my best composition in 2015, I composed this image by using a marble and a compact disc,to get the flame effect i melt the centre part of the cd and fixed the marble in the hole and applied light. No photoshop tricks.

This is the same apple as in the "Rainbow Apple", but with some more fun in photoshop... It was made out of a HDR shot of an apple in a similar setup as the "Sigma 70-300 APO..." photo. The credit for the superimposed map goes to NASA....
I made a tutorial on DPS for this image: check it out!

Happy Earth Day, though I think we should be celebrating and focusing on earth every day! I spent some time today in the garden thinking about what images came to mind around earth, the natural world, what we do it.
I wanted to create an image that showed the power of nature, that it powers us, it can power us. That plants can power us, that nature can be a light and a force in our life, that it can break through and bring life back.
I hope you're able to celebrate the earth in your own way today. Spend some time outdoors, go for a walk, eat some fresh fruit or vegetables, listen to the birds. Do what you can to help our beautiful planet.

Hello everyone, here is the iconic Planet Express ship in a UCS version. I love the animated series and also the spaceship design, so it was a pleasure for me to accept this challenge and start the project. It was difficult for the curved profile, that is not simple to create with Lego bricks.
This is a big model: the ship counts 5112 parts and the total length is almost 1 m. For this reason it needs a very strong inner structure, as you can see from one of the pics in the album. It was totally built using Lego Digital Designer. For the moment there are no minifigs, but hopefully they could be added in the future.
Features:
- turnable turret
- mechanism to bring down the cargo elevator
- UCS plate ;)
I’m a bit disappointed because Lego Ideas didn’t approve this ship, they say the content of the project doesn’t fit their standards and it could refer to politic, religion, drugs, smoking, violence…
I agree with them, but also I asked why Simpsons sets are OK for their standards: they refer to an animated series with an alcoholic father that strangles his son and makes fun of religion.
Well, anyway I’m proud of this project. Very special thanks to my friend Gabriele Zannotti who makes stunning renders, and to my friend Davide Ruggeri for his support so far.
I hope you like it, comments are welcome!
Thank you!
My first try at a planet. The original 360° panorama (handheld and built from 80 pictures!) is very bad, so do not look too closely...
