What was supposed to be a 3 - 4 interview turned in to 6 - 8 when Robby taking time to wish his fans well aas he had the entire week to prepare for the San Felipe 250. Race strategy when to Dakar and the future of GM Hummer, Andy Grider annd Robby hooking up, even a little bit of politics. A comfortable, candid time and we got the feed up to the fans on the East Coast and around the world several hours later, just before the start.
Spendid, hard working people work for RGM; I interviewed several of them too and they said Robby can twist a wrench, encourage and be tough all at the same time! This is a snapshot of the live feed we did for PlanetRobby.com in 2009. Many of Robby's NASCAR fans have an interest in his off-road and rallye events, so Walt Pendleton and I made arrangements to hook up with the guys and we had a great time!
Robby discussed the San Felipe 250; Andy talked about how both he and Robby became friends during a Dakar event and forged their relationship. Robby talked about the economy! He urged folks to not hide and stay home, but to invest and get out to appreciate what life has to offer.
A 3-4 minute interview went on for 7-8 minutes; then Robby did a Speed Run down Zoo Road - Andy said he would not/could not tell me the top speed they reached, so I simply pushed him out of the way and read the GPS 139.57 mph; that was down a public (dirt) road on a Friday afternoon - he wanted his fans back East to get a thrill and the segment of the speed run should be here on Flickr.
