One of the last of Virgin's 747 departures from London Heathrow takes off from there at the end of December. There are now no Virgin Atlantic 747s based there although they can still be seen at Gatwick and Manchester Airports.

Virgin's Heathrow flights are now operated by Boeing 787s and Airbus A330s and A340s.
