I'm very happy with the recipe and mostly happy with the photo. In retrospect, I should have chosen chips or bread with greater color contrast to the yellowish plate, but oh well :). Story and recipe on my blog.

This is all of the stuff I tote around in my tote bag. To work, between houses, etc. It changes up every once in a while but I usually have about all of the same stuff. I will have to take another pic in a bit to update.

I also carry a purse when I carry this bag. I will have to post a pic of the contents of my purse to go along with this pic.

(gosh I wonder how much the two bags and all of thier contents weigh?)

Now that we've called it Back To School season, and consequently post-summer ,it's time to start transitioning into fall cooking, right? Heh. We might be in the middle of a heatwave, but I still roasted a chicken tonight anyway. On the sides, though, it was all summer -- steamed green beans and a nectarine and tomato salad with marinated feta from last month's Food & Wine. Oh man, it was so good, especially because I couldn't find any normal pita chips at the grocery store and ended up baking my own (not my own pita bread, mind you -- just the chips) to go in with the salad.

As for our days, well, what can you say? It's Wednesday. We both seem to think it's later in the week than it really is, but on the bright side, tomorrow's already Thursday. Meanwhile, the Olympics are getting into that post-gymnastics slow waning phase. It's been a grueling schedule we've been keeping, so it certainly will be nice to get back to normal, but we're still going to be so sorry when this is gone.

I went to Trader Joe's for some food before going to a meditation workshop (class requirement) and bought a bag of pita chips and edamame hummus. Must try the Mediterranean next time.

I know it looks kind of gross here, but it's actually delicious. Don't mind my silly title. :)

Apparently, they sent free samples of these chips to a bunch of people named Stacy, and that's how Stacy found out about them.

homemade hummus and pita chips.

I created some after-school snacks for Parenting.com, but I promise, you don't have to have kids to want to eat these things.

I remembered to pack a meatless lunch this Friday, but I forgot when I went out to dinner with some friends and ate meat.

Salmon, hummus, salad, veggies, and pita bread. Sack of pita chips to take home.

We saw a video on making green hummus (it's got blanched basil in it) it turned out pretty good! Ate this with pita chips mm!

Parthena had some of Stacy's chips, which Nicole last photographed in the hands of Stacy M ( www.flickr.com/photos/clintjcl/3750380692/ ). Too bad the picture came out blurry.

Hummus & Pita Chips.

The Art Institute, Sunnyvale, CA. April, 2009

I had a potluck / craft day at my house yesterday. I put some veggies and hummus out to tide people over until the spinach lasagna was ready. My house is always cheerier when it's full of people sharing good food.

We started early so we could eat a bit of all of the good things.
