Cutting the pipe to length and using a nice threading machine to put it all together.

The standard precision formed Jacob range from a diameter of 350mm upwards, complete with the alternative connection of loose spinning flanges. Available in powder-coated, hot-dip galvanised and stainless steel. Visit www.jacob-uk.com/products/modular-pipework-systems-with-l... to explore more.

One of several photos taken and sent to our plumber. We have a dripping mixer tap and he wanted an idea of the layout and type of pipework underneath the sinks. Good luck with that! The eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted that there has been a slow leak dribbling down the ancient pipes at the back. Looks as though that has been going on for years!

Routing of pipework to avoid cutting excessive chunks out of the carcass. A pet hate of mine is seeing a butchered kitchen unit just cos the plumber is too lazy to work it out. Not the use of joints to bring the pipework into the unit. Also useful on the waste pipe as a means of access should it need roding.

Moorgate: Metropolitan Maze

The station opened in 1865 as Moorgate Street on the first extension of the Metropolitan line joined in 1900 by the first extension of the Deep Tube. Remarkable re-designs and station upgrades have left behind a maze of disused tunnels, abandoned track and a complete Greathead shield from 1904, the only one of its kind on the London Underground Network.
