The Spanish hauled gold from Peru over the Camino Cruces to a point on the other side of the river near Gamboa where it was then taken down the river, into the Atlantic Ocean, and eventually to Portobello. Gamboa is tucked up into the jungle, which regularly spills the birds and animals into the clean-cut world of man. Scientists from around the world flock to Gamboa to study the birds and animals along the Pipeline Road where birdwatchers have set world records for numbers and variety.

While walking I took this photo and when I posted it on my blog a friend noticed that he could see what looks like Jesus over in the upper right hand corner where the sun is shining through the trees. I see it, do you? I thought that was cool!!

We arrived at the track early on this second day in the area and once again there was little sun or creatures around.
For this reason I ended up taking several photos of the track. Friends often tell me I take far too few habitat photos as they want to see what the location was like whereas I really like the creatures.
This crack in the sandstone floor near the beginning of the Subway Section of North Creek in Zion National Park is one of the many features you will be photographing on my Zion's Subway & Fall Color Photo Workshop Tour. It's amazing how this water filled crack when shot at the right shutter speed can appear to be a neon like ribbon of water as the central flow through the middle is moving much faster than the surrounding water. My annual Photo Workshop Tour of Zion Canyon and the Subway occurs every fall during the fist week of November, you can sign-up for this year's tour at www.gregclurephotography.com/2013-utah-photo-tours.
