The First Challenge of the Colour of Couture - PinUp Girl
I decided to go with the edgy hotpants and a classic stripped shirt ensemble for my pin up girl look. The pose was really one that followed a familiar pose in that era.
The pinup girl was a pop culture iconic image that many girls portrayed or tried to imitate. From being eye-candy for the troops at war to political and feminism views just by posing a particular way and exhibiting fashion of all sorts.
Pin Up Girls were also considered glam models and very many an actresses made a statement by doing pinup. I decided to show my patriotism by wearing the colors red white and blue.
Bring home the troops!

Old inspo
Way back in the day, I used to follow two pinup style blogs: Elegant Musings and Super Kawaii Mama. The original blogs appear to be gone but I found both ladies again!
These shorts are giving me pinup vibes and prompted me to look up a couple of bloggers I used to follow religiously! Casey Maura (originally of Elegant Musings) is still sewing vintage looks and Candice Deville (originally of Super Kawaii Mama) is still sharing vintage beauty tutorials. I’m not going to sew anything or do pin curls, but I’m down for a cat eye and pinup shorts.

Today's brand new Dietz Dolls pinup artwork is another tribute in the style of Bill Randall with ‘Jeep Peep’! This simple artwork for today features a very lovely blonde on the hood of a World War 2 Willys Jeep... just what any GI would want to see!
New for 2026: As I rebuild the online store, I've opened a temporary one on Fine Art America with some pinups already on there. I'll be adding more in the coming months: fineartamerica.com/profiles/vintagepinups
