Pink Amethyst from Uruguay. Purchased today from @Metajaxearth, at The Gem, Mineral, Jewelry, Fossil & Bead Show in Jacksonville, Fl.

*Pink Amethyst is a variety of Amethyst that crystallizes in the form of masses, prismatic shards, botryoidal, granular, and as a druzy coating. Its pink color comes from small inclusions of Hematite within the Quartz. Pink Amethyst is relatively new to the market and can only be found in southern Brazil. There is not much scientific information on this variety of Amethyst, however, it is widely regarded as an extremely potent crystal in metaphysical communities.

These dainty earrings are full of color with a mix of briolettes in different shades: green amethyst, pink topaz, pink amethyst, lemon topaz, citrine and blue topaz. These pretty earrings hang from a 14K gold filled ear wire.

These are all about the burgundy and pink. The glass lampwork beads were handmade by me in the flame. Deep rich burgundy wine spattered across shimmering pink. Each bead has been wrapped from top to bottom in fine sterling silver wire. At the top is a faceted pink amethyst rondelle and at the bottom a rich faceted ruby rondelle. Clustered below are more of the sparkling ruby and pink amethyst rondelles as well as a large smooth glowing pink rose quartz briolette and on either side a faceted sleek rhodolite briolette. All silver has been oxidized to enhance the beauty of the stones and add a feminine touch.

Part of my Victorian/Renaissance collection. These earrings are so feminine and have a very unique and complimenting shape. I was VERY happy when I saw the final result!

I shaped the frames freehand and then soldered, hammered and coiled the frames with fine-gauge wire. They each cradle a top quality step-cut, faceted pink amethyst briolette---stunning!

They hang from a pair of my handmade and secure ear-wires.

They have been oxidized and then hand polished to a nice luster.

Measurement: 1 7/8 inches from the tops of ear-wires

Weight: 2 grams per earring---lightweight

Thank you for visiting my shop!

This is a manifestation of the inner workings of my convoluted, zany, goofy and (as my friends know too well) somewhat insane mind.

Winding paths that have no seemingly conceivable destination.

Treks that go over and under and all around and lead to nowhere and everywhere.

Twirls and whirls which form the heart of the matter.

A Cul-de-sac without rhyme or reason but purposeful in its intentional random engineering of the thinking process.

In technical imagery parlance, the clusters are symbolic of the flash-forward-rewind-replay mini clips that my mind's home box office theatre likes to showcase. Dark, intriguing, sublime against light, sharp, poignant.

And the song? I just like Depeche Mode.

Psst ... it's also fun to occasionally remove my head from the clouds and deliver verbage of a slightly more serious tone, keeps 'em guessing :P

Footnote: So that her most recent comment makes sense (love ya Debs), earlier on, I posted this picture with just a one liner sentence, which said, "Before Debs asks, description coming!" Now she makes a modicum of sense, ahem :P

Lemon Topaz, African Amethyst, Pink Amethyst, Sterling SIlver

Part of my Victorian/Renaissance collection, features a dark pallette of black onyx and rainbow moonstone. This is a wonderfully wicked necklace.

The pendant is made with sterling silver wire which has been shaped, hammered, and woven into shape and then adorned with faceted black onyx round beads. The bottom cluster features a black onyx briolette and rainbow moonstone rondelles.

The chain portion consists of flattened cable chain, linked together with more black onyx beads, and fringed with rainbow moonstone dangles. A 2 inch chain extender has been added for finer adjustments with the handmade hook-style clasp.

To bring out the wire textures, this necklace has been oxidized and then hand-polished to a matte luster.

All metals are sterling silver.

Measurement: Adjustable between 19 and 21 inches. Re-sizing can be done at no extra charge.

A friend sent me these teeny tiny sea shells that she found on the beach. A nice way to display them.

This bracelet features smooth and flawless pink amethyst nuggets accented with clusters of rich, purple amethyst, citrines and rhodolite garnet. All wire wrapped to perfectly faceted citrine coins.

These little Victorian darlings are so feminine, and, I just love them! The stunning pink amethyst, heart-shaped briolettes are of the highest quality---I hand picked these two beads personally from my local bead show.

The frames of these earrings are made from sterling silver wire in various gauges. They have been shaped, hammered, coiled, and twisted into this upside down heart shape. To compliment the pink amethyst, I've chosen faceted iolite (water sapphire) rondelles.

They hang from a pair of my handmade and secure ear-wires which have been decorated with twisted wire.

To bring out the wire textures, they have been oxidized and then hand polished to a matte finish.

All metals are sterling silver.

"It's all a farce,—these tales they tell

About the breezes sighing,

And moans astir o'er field and dell,

Because the year is dying.

Such principles are most absurd,—

I care not who first taught 'em;

There's nothing known to beast or bird

To make a solemn autumn.

In solemn times, when grief holds sway

With countenance distressing,

You'll note the more of black and gray

Will then be used in dressing.

Now purple tints are all around;

The sky is blue and mellow;

And e'en the grasses turn the ground

From modest green to yellow.

The seed burs all with laughter crack

On featherweed and jimson;

And leaves that should be dressed in black

Are all decked out in crimson.

A butterfly goes winging by;

A singing bird comes after;

And Nature, all from earth to sky,

Is bubbling o'er with laughter.

The ripples wimple on the rills,

Like sparkling little lasses;

The sunlight runs along the hills,

And laughs among the grasses.

The earth is just so full of fun

It really can't contain it;

And streams of mirth so freely run

The heavens seem to rain it.

Don't talk to me of solemn days

In autumn's time of splendor,

Because the sun shows fewer rays,

And these grow slant and slender.

Why, it's the climax of the year,—

The highest time of living!—

Till naturally its bursting cheer

Just melts into Thanksgiving."

Did that just crack you up or did that just crack you up?

Curvaceous hand-forged frames are daintily sprinkled and adorned with gemmies in a truly delectable palette reminiscent of Fall leaves. Genuine Colombian Emeralds flirt impishly alongside Polished Watermelon Tourmalines in Golden Yellow and Cranberry Pink. Here, there and almost everywhere, Virginal White Seed and Button Pearls make sporadic appearances, adding lovely textural relief.

Naturally, stunning briolettes accord finishing touches to Merry Autumn. But you've come to expect the unexpected from Eclettica and this is no exception :)

Doing things a little differently, the luscious Pink Amethyst Briolettes have been double wrapped with a pair of wee Seed Pearls each. This not only sets of the palest of lilac coloring of the Pink Amethyst but also lends a further air of fragility that is truly alluring.

My very first (almost) creation for 2009.

This is a sneak preview of Tableau Vivant (meaning Living Picture) which is an exceedingly decadent Wrist cum Arm Cuff.

The 1st pix on top left shows the base of the cuff before I slathered gems and laces and chains all over it :D

Lower row has two shots of some of the Vintage Venetian Laces I used to adorn the focal. Heaps of chains because I love me a grunge look. The last shot shows the back of the focal which has been prettied up with teeny seed pearls so it's a superbly comfy wear.

Other embellishments include a 30Ctw Kenyan Pink Ruby Briolette featuring a Genuine Clear Diamond set in an 18K Yellow Gold Bezel as well as a HUGE Champagne Tahitian Pearl.

Hopefully I'll be done soon :)

In this cool-toned showpiece LUXE ring design, a gorgeous faceted Pink Amethyst Briolette is accented with AA Red Garnet, Purple African Amethyst, and London Blue Topaz gemstones just shimmer with light and contrast beautifully with one another. These are wrapped with sterling silver wire completely around a handcrafted sterling silver spiral ring frame. The ring was then oxidized and polished to give a subtle patina to the silver and add contrast to the wirework.

Silver and gold-filled wire with pink amethyst and pink topaz

An icon of dangerous female seductiveness, Salome is emblematic of the femme fatale, a fashionable trope of Fin de Siecle decadence. More than merely the dancing girl who extorts a cry of lust from an old man by the lascivious contortions of her body; who breaks the will, and masters the mind of a King by the spectacle of her quivering bosoms, heaving belly and tossing thighs; Salome has risen (if we can quite put it so eloquently) above all these to be revered as the symbolic incarnation of world old Vice.

The spotlight now shines upon said alluring movements as we proudly present The Dance Of The Seven Veils, Starring Salome.

I've endeavoured to portray every nuance of lust-inciting sensuality and fiery desire the world has come to associate Salome's performance with, into this magnificent neckpiece.

My magnum opus exudes an air of undeniable eroticism as precision-faceted Rondelles of Rubies, Pink Sapphires, Whiskey Quartz and Pink Amethyst twine and intertwine along and around one's decolletage. Polished Nuggets of Honey Topaz and Pink Sapphire suggest an air of nonchalence even as Spessartine Garnet Briolettes infuse spurts of wicked colour.

Unapologetically flamboyant, the pendant is truly the wire-wrapped counterpart to all things sensual and beguiling. Fasten your sights upon those curvaceous whirls and twirls. Feel the stirrings of desire within you to possess those beautiful gemstones that which beckon and call you.

Prominently festooned with an Opal set within a 14K Solid Yellow Gold Bezel, a single smooth pebble of Honey Topaz kickstarts the crowning glory of this visual depiction of moral turpitude.

Hark!! Heed the siren song of that ENTRANCING Whiskey Quartz Focal whose vital statistics of 50mm and 131 Carats make one oblivious to all else.

Cavorting alongside it are decadent trims of BLACK DIAMOND BRIOLETTES, Orange Sapphires, Rubies, Pink Sapphires, Spessartine Garnets, Pink Amethyst and more Whiskey Quartz.

Rational thought is futile.

As evidenced from the snapshots, Presenting "The Dance Of The Seven Veils", Starring Salome, is as diverse in her applications as she is in disarming the enemy. Wear her closer to the neck or dangling low or wrapped around twice for a layered look. Measuring 22" with an extension chain proferring adjustability options up to 30", Presenting "The Dance Of The Seven Veils", Starring Salome can (in truth) be hooked at any point. You call the shots.

Her focal stands 7" tall sans the crowning Polished Topaz Nugget, 8.75" with. All wires used are a combination of 925 Sterling and 999 Fine Silvers.

PRESENTING THE DANCE OF THE SEVEN VEILS, STARRING SALOME is part of the MATA HARI Collection.

An artistic showcase of bejewelled interpretations inspired by the captivating and openly flirtatious dance movements pioneered by Dutch-Frisian Exotic Dancer and Courtesan, Mata Hari.

Bold, provocative designs synonymous with the term Femme Fatale.

"Fragile

Like a baby in your arms

Be gentle with me

I'd never willingly

Do you harm

Apologies

Are all you seem to get from me

But just like a child

You make me smile

When you care for me

And you know

It's a question of lust

It's a question of trust

It's a question of not letting

What we've built up

Crumble to dust

It is all of these things and more

That keep us together

Independence

Is still important for us though (we realise)

It's easy to make

The stupid mistake

Of letting go (do you know what I mean)

My weaknesses

You know each and every one (it frightens me)

But I need to drink

More than you seem to think

Before I'm anyones

And you know

It's a question of lust

It's a question of trust

It's a question of not letting

What we've built up

Crumble to dust

It is all of these things and more

That keep us together

Kiss me goodbye

When I'm on my own

But you know that I'd

Rather be home

It's a question of lust"

A friend sent me these teeny tiny sea shells that she found on the beach. A nice way to display them.

A Victorian-inspired pair of ornate beauties. These are very romantic and feminine--perfect for when you want some extra attention....

These were constructed from various gauges of sterling silver wire. The gems are a superior quality of lemon quartz twisted briolettes, micro-faceted pink amethyst and rhodolite garnet rondelles. A breathtaking color combo!

They hang gracefully from a pair of handmade and secure ear-wires. These are super because they're handmade and you won't lose one :-O

All metal components are sterling silver, and they were oxidized and then hand polished for a pewter-like sheen.

Measurement: 2 1/8 inches from the top of ear-wires

Weight: 4 grams per earring

Thanks for stopping in!

These are the FINEST London Blue Topaz gems that I own! I've mixed in some gray topaz, Mystic topaz, and tiny gray freshwater pearls too.

The netting thing is new and I really liked how this one turned out!

I love mixing up different gemstones in my jewellery designs and this pendant has a colour palette of one of my favourite colour combinations: pink and purple.

I have carefully wrapped and weaved gemstones around a handmade circle pendant. The sparkling micro-faceted rondelles are purple amethyst, pink amethyst, rubellite garnet and rose quartz.

"Dig if u will the picture

Of u and I engaged in a kiss

The sweat of your body covers me

Can u my darling

Can u picture this?

Dream if u can a courtyard

An ocean of violets in bloom

Animals strike curious poses

They feel the heat

The heat between me and u

How can u just leave me standing?

Alone in a world that's so cold? (so cold)

Maybe I'm just 2 demanding

Maybe I'm just like my father 2 bold

Maybe you're just like my mother

She's never satisfied (she's never satisfied)

Why do we scream at each other

This is what it sounds like

When doves cry

Touch if u will my stomach

Feel how it trembles inside

You've got the butterflies all tied up

Don't make me chase u

Even doves have pride

How can u just leave me standing?

Alone in a world so cold? (world so cold)

Maybe I'm just 2 demanding

Maybe I'm just like my father 2 bold

Maybe you're just like my mother

She's never satisfied (she's never satisfied)

Why do we scream at each other

This is what it sounds like

When doves cry

How can u just leave me standing?

Alone in a world that's so cold? (a world that's so cold)

Maybe I'm just 2 demanding (maybe, maybe I'm like my father)

Maybe I'm just like my father 2 bold (ya know he's 2 bold)

Maybe you're just like my mother (maybe you're just like my mother)

She's never satisfied (shes never, never satisfied)

Why do we scream at each other (why do we scream, why)

This is what it sounds like

When doves cry

When doves cry (doves cry, doves cry)

When doves cry (doves cry, doves cry)

Don't cry (dont cry)"

Prince ~ 1984

Since the age of 11, when this track was released from Prince's Purple Rain album, I've been in love with it. Inexplicably, irrefutably and irresistably infatuated with the song, its haunting tune and its intriguing lyrics.

As the tabloids would have it, Prince was asked by the director of his Purple Rain DVD to write a song to match the theme of a particular segment of the film - one which involved intermingled parental difficulties and a love affair. The next morning, Prince had reportedly composed two songs, one of which was "When Doves Cry." In addition to writing the track, he also played all instruments on the track. The song's texture is remarkably stark. There is no bass line at all, which is very unusual for a dance song. It is claimed that Prince had originally intended for the inclusion of a bass line, but then decided that the song was too conventional with it intact.

However he saw it, I think this song is JUST perfect as it is. If I have my way (which I intend to), "When Doves Cry" will be my wedding march come June 2009 (watch out darling!).

Although an asymmetrical pair, these earrings look almost identical at first sight. Subsequent glances will then reveal touches of difference here and there.

Let's take a look at the right side first. A generous corsage of blooming gems awaits the onlooker. Striking Rare Purple Garnet Briolettes frame a single Neon Apatite Onion Briolette (brilliant in its sheen); a creamy Grey Moonstone Briolette; a silky smooth Polished Black Tourmaline Briolette; and one Silvery Blue Sapphire Briolette. The most fabulous White Labradorite Briolette ever known has been thrown into the mix as well, for added schiller. Winding their way upwards amongst feather-esque coils are wee trios of Virginal White Seed Pearls which culminate in a petite combustion of more Purple Garnets and a single Iolite Heart Briolette.

The left side begins similarly with a profusion of the same baubles, with delicate woven vines of Seed Pearls gaily playing peekaboo with intricate coils to end in a flirty trio of Purple Garnets and Iolite.

Both sides feature AMAZING Pink Amethyst Carved Leaf Briolettes which have been crowned with a Mystic Grey Quartz Rondelle each.

And that's enough of this shape for a bit.

Amazing pan cut briolettes of pink amethyst hang like sparkling starlight within handmade spiral loop teardrop frames made from sterling silver wire which I have shaped, hammered, sanded, polished and coiled.

(These earrings have been made following my SPIRAL LOOP FRAMES tutorial)

The Glaçon Bracelet ("ice cube/icicle") bracelet is one of my favorite Holiday 2008 pieces to date. It is frosty and cool. Petite seed pearls in a peacock silver-gray color have been clustered with handmade fine silver ball charms, pale lavender hued Pink Amethyst rondelles and teardrops. Two faceted rounds of pale lilac-gray Mystic Quartz rounds have been wired in as well. The gem-encrusted piece has been formed by wiring the gems to a delicate sterling silver chain with handmade ballpins of bright file silver. Dangling from the sterling silver toggle is are two fobs - one is an exquisite example of green-rainbow Mystic Topaz and the other is a natural Tahitian Pearl which has been drilled and set with a Diamond (VS2 quality) in an 18K white gold bezel. Truly luxurious... truly one of a kind. A sterling silver signature tag imprinted with "jlee" adds the final detail.

Just a touch over 7" in length, this bracelet will fit a 6-6.25" wrist perfectly.

This Abstract Daisy Pendant was inspired by the pink daisies in my garden.

A sparkling delicate pink amethyst faceted coin bead sits in the centre of a daisy pendant with inner and outer petals (variation of my Jewelled Flowers tutorial).

I have been exploring texture and shade with these dark and mysterious flower earrings.

Sparkling pink amethyst faceted coin beads sit below petals made from sterling silver sheet which I have sawn, shaped and textured by hand. The earrings have been oxidised and lightly sanded to highlight the details.

These earrings feature gorgeous flawless faceted Pink Amethyst onion briolettes topped with ornate 24k vermeil bead caps Swiss Blue Topaz rondelles and drop shaped Pink Amethyst beads all poised under beautiful 24k vermeil ear wires.

These earrings are approximately 2" long (including ear wires).

These elegant earrings feature plump faceted rondelles of delicate pink amethyst which sit above small circles of sterling silver wire which have been shaped, hammered and then adorned with micro-faceted rondelles of deep pink rhodolite garnet which have been carefully coiled and wrapped.

The intoxicating Maeve earrings feature exquisite, plump onions of lavender Pink Amethyst. These luxuriously large and meticulously faceted drops have been drizzled with a heap of lilac Amethyst rondelles, Pink Amethyst petite teardrops, mauve Scapolite, and deep, rich red Garnets. Each sparkling gem has been placed on a handmade ballpin of fine silver and wired together. Sterling silver French earwires add the final touch. 1.5" in length. One of a kind.

Wirework pendant - re-visiting a previous design as variation of my forthcoming tutorial entitled 'Blossom Drops'.

Inspired by the Scuppernong fruit (a large Muscadine grape) now ripe in the Southeastern United States, the Scuppernong Earrings feature the same golden green palate with hints of purple. The base of each piece flaunts a large drop of finely faceted Golden Rutile Quartz - complete with fine bunches of needles darting throughout the stone. A halo of wire wrapping adorns the peaks of each stone where dozens of rondelles of iridescent Chrysoberyl (natural Cat's Eye), Pink Amethyst and petite drops of forest green Tourmaline dangle. Intricate Bali posts of sterling silver top the pair off. Handmade ballpins and curling headpins of fine silver have been oxidized by hand to yield an antique, golden-charcoal finish. Just under 1.5" in length.
