I haven't used this set in ages. i bought in 1995 and saw that it is still being sold by partylite....well until the end of this month anyway. I just love my scented pine cones...cinnamon...mmmmm. Now I just need my Christmas Cactus that I got for my birthday last year to bloom. I can't believe that Friday will be a year already.

This doily pattern came from the June 1988 issue of Magic Crochet magazine. I crocheted it using Knit-Cro-Sheen #10 thread in a cream or antique white color and sz 7 steel crochet hook (if memory serves me right :-) This was my 1st experience crocheting from a charted pattern...something I came to really like much better than text-only patterns. The doily saw many years of use/abuse on my dining room table on on the coffee table in my living room when I lived in Utah.
I am not sure what this little bird is called; about the size of a golf ball, taken in The Netherlands. I watched him for about 5 minutes grabbing these little pinecones, hanging upside down, pulling out seeds, then jumping back to the branch to eat.
Our driveway is littered with pinecones in the fall. There's nothing better than getting the sticky sap from them on your shoes and tracking it through the house. Okay...well maybe there are a million things better than that.
I dig the centerpiece! Gina & Brian & Shannon talking at the end of the table after Thanksgiving dinner. A fantastic meal and a very fun day & night!
Stop searching and look, sometimes what you need is right there in front of you . . . Hidden in plain sight!
