Just playing with my new DIY light tent made from a cardboard box, tissue paper, and posterboard. The instructions I used are here.
"Feather Friday."
I thought this was an interesting shot of this little bird (not sure what he is called). You can just see his head through his little feet. He would jump out to this pine cone bundle, hang upside down and pick out a seed, then return to the branch to his right. Figured this angle would amuse my father... :-)
Cone from an Australian pine. Small and awful to walk on barefoot. Picked it up and brought it home last time I was at Fort Desoto as I thought it was make a cool macro shot. Strobe on the right, silver reflector on the left.
Our grandkids like collecting pinecones as we walk through their neighborhood. I set these on the ledge and I liked the look of them.
This is the beginning of a series of photos on pine trees and pinecones. In the center, there are three pinecones. Around them is bright green foliage. The photo seems to be in unity because it depicts a natural alignment of the branches.
I picked 3 cones up while out walking and put them in my pocket. Arriving home I put them on the kitchen worktop where lots of black started to emerge. I quickly got rid, and made sure my pockets were clear, consigning the cones to outside.
Giving them a good shake today, I took them indoors to take the photo, and spotted a pretty little blue bug still hiding inside. Needless to say they are back outdoors now.
