For some reason I was taken by this pinecone while out walking at lunch one day.

 

I carried it back with me to take home to photography.

 

It took a while to get the sticky sap off my hands.

Pinecones come in all shapes and sizes ... I made some angels for the Christmas tree this year...These ones were extra long picked in Vancouver , BC, Canada.

Maria gave me a tiny pinecone she'd found outside. I photographed it in my camera's super macro mode with a pencil for scale.

The other night I couldn't get to sleep because I had the idea for this pinecone pouch and I really wanted to make it. Last night I made it.

 

You wear it round your neck (adult or child) and you can put shells, acorns, buttons or any other treasuure in it.

 

And it's lined with Liberty fabric

 

Putting Christmas decorations away today. It's always a bit sad saying goodbye to these little friends, pinecone elves that belonged to my mother.

These were fun for my 3 1/2 year old to make and the silhouette saves so much time!

Justin's mom surprised us with a pinecone wreath she made. Justin's grandfather collected the pinecones. I really love it.

 

I hung one of my scarf bunny ornaments in the center because the "my favorite things are handmade" sentiment seemed to apply.

I love to add pinecones to the fire and watch them glow !
