I am posting as a Sunday Slider.
Pine tree's planted by the CCC. Below is a copy and paste.
"The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a public work relief program that operated from 1933 to 1942 in the United States for unemployed, unmarried men from relief families as part of the New Deal. Originally for young men ages 18–23, it was eventually expanded to young men ages 17–28. "We have several tree stands here that they planted.

Pine Grosbeak is really a bird in the wilderness of Lapland. Sometimes, however, when rowans have a lot of berries they are surprising and migrate in large numbers to densely populated areas. Although the Pine Grosbeaks are quite inconspicuous in the nesting areas, they are very fearless
Usually shy and curious, pine martens are also solitary and territorial. The pine marten ranges in forests and woodlands across Alaska, Canada and the northern United States.
Neither sex will allow another marten of the same sex in their home territory, though males will tolerate the presence of multiple females.
(I can live with that ;) LOL.)
Pine martens are agile climbers and spend much of their time in trees, where they prey on squirrels and chipmunks. Their diet also includes mice, hares, shrews, birds, bird eggs, amphibians, reptiles, insects, fish, crayfish, nuts, fruit and carrion.
A very large beetle - up to 3.8cm long - this beautiful beetle, with its lovely fan antennae, is found in N. Africa and Europe (not in the UK, unfortunately). It likes sandy habitats, eg the edge of pine forests, vineyards or dunes. They feed on the foliage of pines. I found this one in the Camargue, France.

A few weeks ago we hung a nyjer feeder in the back yard. These have shown up to share it with the lesser goldfinches. Everyone mostly gets along - I've seen 9 or 10 hanging on it at the same time.

A Pine Siskin (Spinus pinus) waiting for it's turn at the feeder. Closely related to the American Goldfinch. In fact there was a Goldfinch with this Siskin!
Look at that claw, I mean what an amazing little creature, as graceful as a squirrel as vicious as a wolverine. Eater of squirrels I was lucky to encounter one during my trip to Algonquin to celebrate the end of this year, and the beginning of a new one.
Apparently, this is what needs to be done after one has spent twenty minutes trying to break into a suet cage.
(Setophaga pinus). Angelina County.
I photographed this inquisitive Pine Warbler during a beautiful evening in the longleaf.
A really enjoy the detail of a Pine Siskin, the texture of the feathers really pops against a dreary background
The needles of the Pine Tree in the morning sunshine. The trees give deep shade and a pleasing smell of pine in the air. But they are, of course, part of the introduced Flora of Australia and can provide timber. Pine plantations were also said to make the soil more acidic but others dispute that claim especially in Australian Forestry situations. HSoS.
