Es haben sich in der Höhle mehr als 8000 Buddhastatuen angesammelt. Die ältesten stammen aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, und neue Votivgaben kommen bis heute hinzu. Wissenschaftler drängen auf die Aufnahme der Stätte in die UNESCO-Liste des Weltkulturerbes.
Die Kalkstein-Höhlen befinden sich in einem Höhenzug bei der Stadt Pindaya. Auf dem in Nord-Süd-Richtung verlaufenden Grat befinden sich drei Höhlen, aber nur die südliche Höhle kann betreten und erforscht werden. Es ist nicht bekannt, ob die beiden anderen über eine längere Strecke in den Hang eindringen. Die Höhlen sind über einen gedeckten Treppenaufgang zugänglich. Ausgehend von der geräumigen Eingangshalle führt ein Netz von Gängen tief in den Berg. Die Wände der kleinen Hallen und der Gänge sind bedeckt mit meistens vergoldeten Buddhastatuen aus verschiedenen Materialien und in unterschiedlichen Größen.
The Pindaya Caves are a Buddhist pilgrimage site and a tourist attraction located on a limestone ridge in the Myelat region. The area is part of the ancestral homeland of the Danu people. There are three caves on the ridge which runs north-south, but only the southern cave can be entered and explored. It is not known whether the other two penetrate for any extended distance into the hillside. Scholars have been pushing for the site's inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

A great way to invite the birds to your garden is by making (or buying) a bird seed cake.

Allergisch zijn voor de inname van lupine komt voor. Lupine is net zoals de pinda lid van de vlinderbloemenfamilie. Vaak hebben mensen met een lupineallergie ook antistoffen tegen pinda's in hun bloed. Een allergische reactie op lupine kan ook voorkomen zonder pinda-allergie. De voedselindustrie verwerkt sinds de jaren negentig steeds vaker lupinemeel in producten als pasta's, koekjes, pannenkoekenmeel en snacks. Lupinemeel wordt ook wel gezien als een alternatief voor soja. Sinds december 2008 is een fabrikant verplicht op verpakkingen te vermelden of hij lupine verwerkt.

Since December 2008, a manufacturer has been obliged to state on packaging whether it processes lupine.
Hier was fototechnisch wel een plan voor nodig om hem op een zwarte achtergrond te krijgen. Maar het loont m.i. de vele moeite.

The Peanut Butter Jar Holder hangs on the first floor in front of the window. So that I can look at it from behind my computer.
I have filled the special peanut butter for birds with dried mealworms, pieces of peanut and oatmeal.

De Pindakaaspothouder hangt op de eerste verdieping voor het raam. Zodat ik van achter mijn computer er naar kan kijken.
De speciale pindakaas voor vogels heb ik aan gevuld met gedroogde meelwormen, stukjes pinda en havermout.

I love chocolate, I can't stay away from it. M&M's Peanut is one of my favorites. I have to be careful not to eat the bag empty in one go.You can imagine what happens to my props after the shoot
