Eventually the rock will erode.

Bright colors will fade away.

The sun will set in the East.

White clouds will turn to grey.

However, look forward.

Order the ice cream cone.

Embrace the awkward.

And learn to live alone.

Anemone hepatica (syn. Hepatica nobilis), the common hepatica, liverwort, kidneywort, or pennywort, is a species of flowering plant in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae, native to woodland in temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. This herbaceous perennial grows from a rhizome.

The flowers are blue, purple, pink, or white and appear in winter or spring. They have five to ten oval showy sepals and three green bracts.

Medieval herbalists believed it could be used to treat liver diseases, and is still used in alternative medicine today. Other modern applications by herbalists include treatments for pimples, bronchitis and gout.

Under the name Hepatica nobilis, which is now regarded as a synonym, this plant has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

In last week I saw first hepatica in the forest. Yesterday there were already much more of them :)

Przylaszczka pospolita (Hepatica nobilis) – gatunek rośliny wieloletniej z rodziny jaskrowatych.

Take care out there......

Temizi Store // Pimples

I love it along here whatever the weather or time of day. Today was no exception, didn't start out till after lunch as we had an errand to run. Also Hubbie is nursing a recurring back problem so I went for a walk by myself. Not the holiday we had planned but we will make the most of it. Managed to dodge the showers and get back in time for tea. Hubbie had enjoyed pottering about with his new cooking hobby.

In the distance to the right, the little pimple is Win Hill which we climbed yesterday, and you may just make out a rainbow.

Upon seeing another image of this fascinating geological feature on Flickr today, I thought I'd try a re-edit of my scanned 35 mm slide from 2002 (amazing how those two decades flew by!). I had never heard of the Devil's Tower until - you guessed it - the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" came out in the late 70s. I loved the movie and thought it would be wonderful to see the tower at some point (even sans aliens). I was able to do just that in 1991 and 2002, on cross-country road trips. It is somewhat unimpressive from afar, as it looks like a little pimple in a huge, somewhat flat landscape, but up close it is full of personality and mystery.

Devil's Tower, Wyoming

Summer, 2002

Looing across to the little pimple of Win hill from the track that crosses the moors

We opted for a shorter morning walk, which the mobile told me was about 8000 steps. Need a little more..
