grandmother fixes granddaughter's hair ribbon

Commissioned by my niece who selected the blue yarn

Slept in them, it was such a big deal. :) The Mermaid pin made breakfast a little more festive, too.

it's how she does her hair, and good thing, too, as it's weird and straight and i don't know what to do with straight hair!

Robin let me put pigtails in her hair for the first time ever. And even though this picture is completely out of focus, I love it. It just screams Robin to me.

My daughter, with pigtails. Approaching six months now, time is just flying by.

i love this photo; love this hannah.

I am in love with seeing Luna wearing her pigtails, she looks too cute! She is due a grooming and I will shorten her top knot next week :-)

I figured I should smile once

Isn't the boyfriend's cousin cute? She followed me around all day yesterday.

Samantha, aged 3.

This is my cousin by the way, not my daughter.

Mom still needs to get the hang of the pigtail thing, but the good thing is that Misty doesn't mind having her hair played with and doesn't pull out the hair bands. :)

As most cute little girls are, she was a ham in front of the camera. Whenever it was pointed at her, she'd grin really big, and it's impossible not to click the shutter.

A bad attempt at self-portraiture at the lakeshore. I wasn't patient enough to keep trying.

Driving around lost one afternoon and decided to take a pic.

Eve is my cousin (mom's sister Marcia's daughter). Friends may know her as cousin Nathan's sister.

These bows are so cute and any little girl would love them. Printed on the ribbon is Rudolph and a girl reindeer. The bows measure about 2 1/2 inches across and 2 inches in length. The bows are glued to a partially lined double prong alligator clip. Great for adorning pigtails.

Mom, lounging at Pawley's, from Grandmom's things. Note smiley-face throw pillow, ship's-wheel lamp fitting, and (of course) wood paneling.

She does not like having ties in her hair but today I thought I give it a shot ....it stayed nice for...oh, I don't know...a few minutes!

(I have a small blurry spot on this shot...I think my lense was in need of cleaning.)

E getting JUST enough hair to have a hairstyle.

In June 2007 we finally got fed up with Eliza's ton of hair (it was always getting in her eyes and making it difficult to play) so we broke down and started putting in the effort to put pigtails in.

We've found endless amusement in what her hair will do - this time right out of the bath after "The Lipstick Incident" (doesn't she clean up well?). We twisted the pigtails so that at first they stood up and looked an awful lot like unicorn horns (well, that is, if unicorns weren't *uni* corns). Then they drooped sadly. But we still got a good chuckle out of it.
