I'm not usually crazy about using flash. But bouncing it helped to avoid red eye and to keep the colors of this sweet little girl's face natural looking for this indoor shot. The interior was actually rather dim (a roller rink birthday party).
Another spider egg sac.....I only knew what to look for after seeing the red spider egg cases and hoping to find this color.
Matilda has never been able to sit still long enough for someone to braid her hair before. She is either getting more mature, or we sedated her with heavy narcotics. I'm not telling.
My newest acquisition. Pigtails from Gurl 6. I opted for the drama pack but got the whole 60 megapack!! And above all, this hair is *tintable* and it's just so cute I could squeal!
The dress is the PoC Halle dress from the previous photos, two blood-red layers under a black layer, creating a rather nice effect.
A hairstyling triumph! As long as I didn't attempt any sort of straight part, E let me put in the pigtails. Because she had a straw to deal with.
These silly straws seems to be just perfect for her, and the work with all our straw-cups and with juice boxes. And these are too tall to be shoved down inside the juice box the way she likes to lose the little straws that come with them. I'll probably have to edit this comment in the morning.
My god daughter Brenna refers to her pigtails as wubbies for reasons unknown. She's awfully cute, though.
My grandmother gave me this yarn, called "Denver" either from my great-grandmother's yarn stash (!!!!) or a yard sale from 20 years ago (either way, rock on!). I had started a couple projects with this mohair-like acrylic, and the color combination and fuzziness got in the way of the stitch patterns. So I wanted to do something where stockinette would let the yarn do the talking, but that still wouldn't be boring. I think I succeeded.
The hat is very roomy, good for big hair, dreads, braids (as if you'd need more braids ON your hat, but hey, they're cute!), or just people who like to pull their hats way down over their ears for warmth. Nice and warm, and no one on earth will have the same hat as you. Guaranteed.
After waiting patiently for hours, captured this rare nature shot of pigtails with my 10,000mm f0.8 lens moments before the pigtails darted into the dense forest canopy.
i recently got this haircut i'm still not wild about. however, this morning i discovered it puts me much closer to those leslie knope pigtails i've been coveting.
so...i guess it's not all bad.
