A Portuguese dessert specialty, almost like a custard tart, but pastéis de nata are egg tart pastries. The outside is crispy and flaky while the inside is creamy and sweet.

Just a bit of the 1 inch slice.

Macro Mondays: Pie

Also #21/100 Food & drink. 100x 2022

I wasn’t going to participate this week until I remembered last night that we had an emergency stash of frozen pies in the freezer! Added some ‘heat’ to it with LED lighting.

HMM!

For a dinner party or special weekend treat, there's just nothing like pie. And for most people, there's nothing like chocolate. Put the two together and you get a "wow" moment.

I didn't believe I would ever say this, but I miss the former administrator of this group, Mrs. J. Towbin. I think a significant number of images would not meet the 3 inch rule and would be removed or proof of size would be required. Even after many years of photography for MacroMondays themes, I still keep a ruler by my side while taking photos on a given theme. As proof of size for this photo, I will enclose proof of the size of the model, which was requested to me in May 2019 by Mrs. J.Towbin.

It will be my pleasure if she sees this photo as an answer to her question about what I make in such small models.

In the previous photo in my photo-stream you can see several pies and this one is one of them.

Happy Pi Day!

HMM!

The Macro Monday day theme for 3/14 is “pie”, for mathematically obvious reasons, and this will probably be my posting. These scrabble tiles are 1/2 inch so this square composition is about 2 and 3/4ths or just under 3 inches. Will post the size verification in the first comment box in a little while.

We always try to make sure we are together for dinner and most importantly, sitting at the the table. This is a time of no phones, no tv, no technology whatsoever. We talk about anything and everything at the table. It's that quiet time spent together, talking.....that is one of the most important parts of my day. A family who eats together, stays together. :)

Albert Einstein was born on March 14, which is also celebrated as Pi Day, honoring the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, otherwise known as the mathematical constant π.

It is a narrow possibility that the intelligentsia of Milwaukee erected this artifact to honor a long stream of numbers and maybe some merengue. Happy pi day to all.

No pie on pi day-doctor’s orders. 😩 I found these cake pans tucked in the back of my cabinet since we no longer eat high carb baked foods. Anyway, I’m still playing with my iPhone camera and was able to get a high key shallow focal point shot.

Pie for Macro Mondays

Food photography is definitely not my thing and any attempts at artistry or styling were ruled out by the fact that chef was standing beside me ready to serve this delicious cheese and onion pie

“We’re Here!” Joining friends of pie in wishing everyone Happy Pi Day!

It was a fabulous excuse to buy a pie. In honor of the day the market had these on special for $5, and since I live alone, it’s Mine, all mine - which is topic 72 of 120 at 120 Pictures in 2020.

Come see Spotlight Your Best where the March 2020 theme is “Food & Drink.”

For the non-USA people March 14 is Pi day (3.14..). Circles use the Pi calculation tor area, circumference etc. Pi is an irrational number, more than a bit like the world and humans today. Melbourne is hot, humid with thunderstorms threatening and traffic issues as everyone returns from their long labour weekend away. HMMM

For Macro Mondays theme "pie". HMM!

The whole pie is the size of what can be bought at a popular fast-food joint. I found this one at our local grocery, and I warmed it up after the shoot - topped it with ice cream, and devoured it.

Happy PI Day!

Happy Pi Day!

Happy Macro Monday!

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159. Pi Day is an annual opportunity for math enthusiasts to recite the infinite digits of Pi, talk to their friends about math, and eat pie.

Happy Pi Day! Cheesecake counts, doesn't it?

Aboutme

My late Dad would have been 103 today so I visited the local Bakery and bought a Fresh Fruit Tart to celebrate. I didn't have enough room for 103 candles so I settled with 3!

Hawaiian pizza. The chain I got this from added bacon (the US kind) to the base recipe and branded it Super Hawaiian; the onions were my addition.

Even though pineapples as a pizza topping is hotly debated, I don't mind the contribution of the topping to this slice of enjoyment.

Frederick was so surprised when Sophia brought him a pie instead of shooing him out of her kitchen! "Today is Pi Day," she said. Have a piece!

Hope you've all had a great Pi Day! But please do me a favor - do not tell the chickens they are sitting on a chicken pot pie!!! :D

This weeks theme for Mosaic Montage Monday was Pi Day. Happy Pi Day and HMMM!

Not Exactly Pi But There Are Infinite Possibilities Here

Tomorrow 3/14 is Pi day in honor Pi (aka π) of course! π is defined as the ratio of a circle's circumference C to its diameter d. π is approximately 3.14159... It's decimal representation goes on forever, so irrational!

My husband and I have a special use for π . We multiply the time estimate for any task by π to get a more realistic estimate. So..if we think something will take an hour and we actually finish in less than 3.14159 hours we are happy. We call it "The rule of pi".

I actually stood on double yellow lines in between traffic to grab this shot. I cut out yellow paper to make the top part of the Pi symbol.

The Eagle's Eye formation in Monument Valley, as beautiful and seemed an appropriate post for today. Happy PI day everyone!

I have only just learned from an erudite English mathematician that March 14 (3.14) is Pi (π) Day in countries that use the month/day date format. In Australia we use the day/month format so our turn will come on 22/7. However, as I type, it's still 3.14 in some parts of the world, and so in recognition of Pi Day, and in deference to Archimedes, here's a π crop of a big swell I was watching this morning.
