The new year has started with the fireworks from a weather point of view. A great clearing storm caused by a cold front has create the scene above on the Garda lake, Italy. A brave swan, with other birds, seemed not scared at all by the dark menace approaching from the horizon.

No PP, just used picture style embedded.

No PP, elaborato in macchina con PictureStyle e basta.

Biotar 58/2 - Von unterwegs - OOC

Sunday I went to visit the WWF nature reserve of Persano and I had a great time there with my friends. This is one of the shots I did.

First attempt with Canon Picture Style Editor. As usual, every comment or suggestion is appreciated.

I have dozen of photos to upload... I hope to find some time in the next days. The specialization courses are making me crazy!

Have a nice day!

Eilean Donan Castle.

Only 10 miles from Plockton so we stopped on our way back. A heavy and misty sky helped to set the mood but there was still light spilling onto the scene which created a lot of contrast. Overlapped and bracketed a dozen frames to see what I could make of it. Final image is a stitch of 4 frames with each frame manually blended from 2 so I used 8 frames in all.

Thanks for viewing and for any comments / faves.

Tried to make an old-fashioned look. What do you think?

2nd one of the ruined croft at Badyo from a few weeks ago.

The famous bull of Osborne.

Dedicated to Manme, because she was published another bull some days ago ( www.flickr.com/photos/srta_petardita/397733853/ ) and it makes me remember this.

The Osborne's bull is a 14 meters high black silhouetted image of a bull in semi-profile, and is regarded as the unofficial national symbol of Spain.

The Osborne sherry company erected large images of bulls starting in 1956, in black with the maker's name, as advertising boardings on sites near to major roads throughout Spain. The original image was smaller and in a slightly different design. It got bigger as a law barred publicity within 150 meters of a road.

The bull was created in 1956, by Manolo Prieto. Nowadays the conservation of the bulls is handled by the family of Felix Tejada.

More info in en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osborne's_bull.

I don't like the bullfights, and in general none of the topics of which Spain is bulls and flamenco (Spain is a complex mixture of nationalities). But we cannot erase history easily, and these bulls still survive. In addition, great part of the youth of patriotic ideology relates this silhouette to the national flag, and for that reason this one is sabotaged in less patriotic regions, like Catalunya.

This one is located in Alfajarín, near Zaragoza, in freeway AP-2 between Zaragoza and Barcelona (see the map). The photo was taken by my wife, with zoom and inside the car at 120 km/h, and it has been very well. I have aged it 50 years with Paintshop Pro because I consider an element of the past.

Great weekend to all!!!

Found this blooming lotus garden in a remote region of Barisal. Its inside an restricted private property but the owners almost abundant it. This pond has interesting life within and surrounding areas. I had little time to spend there; just shot it through the lotus leafs before I left.

Nothing altered, straight from my camera except “Emerald” colour profile used from canon’s official site here web.canon.jp/imaging/picturestyle/index.html.

Lens: Sigma Zoom Telephoto 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro

Another one from last Thursdays visit to Seafield taken as the thick and heavy cloud was clearing to the west. The blue sky didn't last for long, more overcastness came in from the East. The wave in the centre was blended from another shot taken seconds apart. More on my blog
