This is the obligatory under the pier shot :) Taken at Picnic Bay on the first day of our Magnetic Island visit. We had earlier been here but the tide was high and we had to lay on our backs to get a shot underneath the pier. To the right of the photo you can see the Townville port and city.

A tradition in Japan during cherry blossom season seems to be family picnics under the trees. This was also the only sign of refuse I saw the whole trip, but I daresay the bins would be cleared very quickly. Waste bins are a rarity in Japan but the streets are spotless. People are expected to take their rubbish home to dispose of it.

It's gonna be a dinner-picnic today too - when we are out n about it's sometimes easier to make a nice picnic for the dinner-meal so we don't need to fuss about that when we are coming home.
We had picnic in these surroundings today, it was very nice
Mr Stray Cat has returned, he had been missing for a few weeks and here he is sunning himself on the picnic table!
Oh man -- the back to work thing hit me in the face full force yesterday. I think by the end of the day I was in full swing, though. Hopefully today won't be such a rough start!!! Happy Tuesday!
Crystal Lake State Park - Iowa
A small beautiful lake in northwest Hancock county west of where we live . . . provides boating, camping, hiking and picnics. Pretty quiet around the lake on this beautiful Monday afternoon.
There was one boat out with younger girls waterskiing cause I could hear the giggles and squeals across the small lake! :)

We had pulled into a very large picnic area that had a way in and a way out so nothing disastrous occurred I'm pleased to say. There was a pathway over very slippery rocks that we hoped might lead to a glimpse of the river we appeared to be travelling alongside.. I thought it was asking for trouble so I turned back but Jonathan went on as fleet footed as a mountain goat but at 6ft 5ins had a long way to fall so I screamed at him to come back but when did he ever listen to me. I walked away and found three little clumps of flowers that made a nice change to capture.. just used the Tamron zoom but thought it made quite a nice job of the bokeh...Jonathan made it back safely I am happy to report...Sue :)
On Monday Marg and I decided to point the car up the San Juan Ridge to the old mining town of Humbug. Of course Kenzie the pup and a nice picnic lunch accompanied us. Autumn for the most part had lost its luster in Humbug but I'm never one to scoff at bare tree shots. Here the trees were indeed bare to their bones as they fanned out behind a cluster of old shacks.
