The Whiskey Mac rose was looking very sad in early July - black-spot, wilted flowers - so I pruned it right back. It is now full of buds and the leaves are green and glossy again.

'Mackerel sky' refers to clouds that look like fish scales. These clouds usually line themselves up in groups in a regular pattern. They resemble the small ripples created by a gentle breeze on water surface. In meteorology, they are called 'cirrocumulus' clouds. The occurrence of cirrocumulus clouds indicates the presence of a convergent zone such as a high pressure trough or a cyclone in lower levels; or a frontal zone where cold air meets moist warm air.
Iridescence clouds are formed by tiny ice crystals or water droplets in the air. Larger ice crystals produce solar or lunar halos, (sun dogs) but tiny ice crystals or water droplets cause light to be diffracted – spread out – creating this rainbow-like effect in the clouds.

This tub and Old Bones here was in my customer's yard. So I took a picture and thanks to PicMonkey I had some fun with the picture.
The Pont De Rennes bridge is located in the Brown's Race Historic District of Rochester New York at the base of the High Falls where it spans the Genesee River. The Pont De Rennes bridge formerly carried Platt Street [1] over the River but was converted to pedestrian use in 1982 as part of a redevelopment of the High Falls area as an entertainment area. The bridge was renamed the Pont De Rennes for Rochester's sister city Rennes in France as part of the conversion. The Pont De Rennes bridge provides unobstructed views of the High Falls and downstream gorge. (Wikipedia}) HFF.
