Peter McGovern
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Peter John McGovern (28 October 1927 – 1 April 2006) was an English songwriter and activist.
Life and career
Pete McGovern was born in Liverpool, England, on 28 October 1927. Both of his parents were Irish. His father, Thomas McGovern, was from Collon, County Louth, Ireland and his mother, Annie Dillon, was from Galbally, County Limerick, Ireland. Pete was born in Regent Street, off the dock road north of the city centre.
McGovern attended St. Edwards School, West Derby and Queen Elizabeth's School, Anfield. He worked for many years on the railways and was an active trade unionist and campaigner.
His main claim to fame is that he wrote "In My Liverpool Home", a song that has become an anthem or folk tune for the people of Liverpool. It was recorded by the folk group The Spinners.
The original version of "In My Liverpool Home" was written by McGovern in the early 1960s, but many verses have been added since.
The first line of the song is:
"I was born in Liverpool, down by the docks"
McGovern died in Trawsfynydd, North Wales, on 1 April 2006.
McGovern's grand-daughter, Alison McGovern, was elected MP for Wirral South in the UK General Election, 2010.
nunca tengas temor
a la sorpresa intempestiva
si un gato guarda tu persona
¡ mira si mueve las orejas
o también el rabo !
¡¡ Silencio absoluto !
¡¡ el peligro te acecha !!
más, si todo está quieto
¡¡ no estés inquieto !!
¡¡ que el gato te acompañe !!
si picas la imagen salta el gato
Max sleeps in the conservatory, which can be cold during the night, so I bought him an extra large igloo, meant for small dog breeds. He loves it, but sleeps in it during the day, when the sun heats the conservatory, and ignores it when it is cold!! lol
“I've never forgotten him. Dare I say I miss him? I do. I miss him. I still see him in my dreams. They are nightmares mostly, but nightmares tinged with love. Such is the strangeness of the human heart. I still cannot understand how he could abandon me so unceremoniously, without any sort of goodbye, without looking back even once. The pain is like an axe that chops my heart. ”
Rain rain go away,
Come again another day.
Rain, rain, go to Spain,
Never show your face again!
History of "Rain rain go away" poem
The origin of the lyrics to "Rain rain go away" is said to date back to the reign of Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603). During this period of English history there was constant rivalry between Spain and England culminating in the launch of the Spanish Armada in 1588.
"My aunt will be down presently, Mr. Nuttel," said a very self-possessed young lady of fifteen; "in the meantime you must try and put up with me."

I saw this spider's web hanging from the outside light and took a photo. It wasn't until I got it on the computer I saw the missing bit, making a triangle. The construction of a web is made up of many triangles :)
The light itself also makes a triangle.
