All Hallow's Eve seems to have some sort of weird vendetta against us. It's hard to believe that this time last year we were battling a fierce snow storm complete massive tree damage and week long blackouts. Now it's Halloween again and everyone around here in the north east has prepared for the lingering effects of Hurricane Sandy. From what I've seen, the coastal areas got hit pretty hard. Thankfully, we are farther inland and we were very, very lucky - only some strong winds, a few branches, and barely a power flicker. More wind and rain is to be expected, but nothing too serious.
TK-7707 and the Littlest Pickachu helped me 'batten down the hatches', so to speak. We brought all the decorations indoors so nothing would fly away or cause any damage. All the nasty weather has made the jack-o-lanterns a little testy. I warned TK and Pickachu not to bother them, but they were having a grand ole' time running around in their hollow insides. Sure enough, I had to save TK-7707 from the snapping jaws of an irritable pumpkin. (And not even a real pumpkin either - a fake one. Apparently when you carve a face into something it suddenly develops feelings). Anyway, there was no real damage done (just squishy styrofoam pumpkin nom-nom-nom residue) but they got quite a scare.
Happy Halloween Eve! I hope everyone is (and will be) safe and sound from the storm. Be careful and drive safe. OH and beware of bitey jack-o-lanterns ;)
